bonjour, j'ai cherché des renseignements pour mon tpe et je suis tombé sur un article en anglais mais je bloque sur la traduction certaines phrases :
"Baudhayana uses different approximations for constructing circular shapes. Constructions are given which are equivalent to taking (...). None of these is particularly accurate but, in the context of constructing altars they would not lead to noticeable errors."
"This gives √2 correct to five decimal places. This is surprising since, as we mentioned above, great mathematical accuracy did not seem necessary for the building work described. If the approximation was given as
√2 = 1 + 1/3 + 1/(3x4)
then the error is of the order of 0.002 which is still more accurate than any of the values of π. Why then did Baudhayana feel that he had to go for a better approximation ?"
"Other theorems include: diagonals of rectangle bisect each other, diagonals of rhombus bisect at right angles, area of a square formed by joining the middle points of a square is half of original, the midpoints of a rectangle joined forms a rhombus whose area is half the rectangle, etc.
Note the emphasis on rectangles and squares; this arises from the need to specify (...) the altar on which a rituals were conducted, including fire offerings"
est ce que quelqu'un pourrait m'aider à traduire svp ?
