Based on a true story REMEMBER THE TITANS is a dramatic and sporting film about the racism between Blacks and Whitesin a american football team.The film was released in april 2001, it was directedby Boaz Yakin and produces by Bruckheimer with 30 million dollars of production budget. The principal characters are the coach Boone played by Washington, the coach Yoast played by Patton, Julius Campbell with Harris and Bertier by Hurst. This is the inspiring story of the successfull integration of a high school football team in Virginia.
In 1971, in Virginia,the town s´high school football team , the TC williams Titan are very popular. Problems begin when the school commission decide to integrate black population to high school until now reserved for the whites. oppositions between blacks and whites are very violent. The Alexandria inhabitants who are racists doesn´t know this decision and protest in the street against that by stronges confrontations. It´s in this situation that a black coach,Boone is named principal coach by Yoast side, a white coach. In spit of differences,Boone and Yoast learn to work together with the aim to show to players that they have other common points that football. They succeed in transforming a group of young heinous people in a welded and tolerant team. It´s in this state of mind that the multi-racial team win all the matchs and the championship. After their victory, they return to Alexandria and discover the crowd joining together whites and blacks who acclaim them. Much more a sporting victory it was human victory.
