About
IDF Exploder is a program that allows the extraction, preview and insertion of images and sound files inside an 1nsane data file. It is also capable of creating "Patch" files so that you may easily distribute your "skins" via the internet. Oh and this program is completely free and may be distributed "freely" (i.e. not for profit)
Usage
Opens an 1nsane datafile and displays information in the listbox at the left of the program.
Extracts the selected item from the datafile. A file selector box will appear allowing you yo choose where you save the picture/sound to.
Allows you to replace an item in the data file with your new edited version. The only current limitation is that the file size of the new item must be smaller or equal in size to the original.
Extracts the file to a temporary file and tries to launch the default viewer associated with the selected file type.
Closes the 1nsane data file.
Saves the 1nsane data file, the file will be overwritten after being copied to a backup file (same filename with .bak tagged on the end)
Allows you to save the data file under a different name and/or location.
After you have loaded all the modifications to your data file, click on this button to create a patch file that can be distributed freely.
Click this button to open a patch file you have created/downloaded. This button works independently of any data you may be editing.
Patch Files
The Patch files that IDF Exploder creates contain information about which file to patch and optionally details that the creator of the skin may enter. These details are "Author", "Contact" and "Comments". Patch files (or skins) have the extension .idp (1nsane data patch) All you need to do to use them is click apply patch in IDF Exploder, select the file and the program does the rest. I have tried to make the process as simple as possible.
