Here are the main differences between democracy 2 and democracy 3:
• Completely new, cleaner GUI
• GUI that scales sensibly to your screen resolution at last!
• More emphasis on longer term events for late game.
• Per-voter group cynicism with much more accurate cynicism simulation, for example it occurs for any pre-or-post election events that cause opinion swings, and also applies to policy flip-flops.
• Complacency is now modelled so voters adopt a ‘what have you done for me lately’ approach over time.
• Completely revamped modelling of socialism/capitalism and liberalism/conservatism so they exist on opposite spectrums
• Smokers and Drinkers have been replaced by Youth and Ethnic Minorities. (Alcohol & tobacco are still simulated in-game)
• More accurate modelling of long term changes in voter group membership.
• Effects on voter group income and membership is now viewable by the player
• Individual voter groups incomes can be affected by policies such as subsidies and taxes.
• New policies, situations and a more detailed simulation in general.
• Support for more complex relationships between objects
• Support for per-country ‘overrides’ and scripts to allow them to be more accurately adjusted for each country.
• Much better mod support
