SHOWTIME president and CEO David Nevins announced the network has ordered a 10-episode season based on the legendary video game franchise!

Kyle Killen (Awake) will serve as executive producer, writer and showrunner. Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) will direct multiple episodes and also executive produce the hour-long series which enters production in early 2019.

10 épisodes d'une heure, "plus grosse série Showtime", ça sent les gros moyens! Je suis tellement optimiste, j'espère vraiment que ça va pas foirer, le potentiel de la saga est hallucinant pour faire un truc de malade.

Je me demande juste dans quelle période ça va se dérouler, j'ai lu des trucs qui parle de la guerre Humano-covenante et ça semble être l'idée la moins dangereuse. Mais post Halo 5 on aurait peut-être pu avoir un truc sympa aussi, le problème aurait été de mêler l'intrigue avec la poursuite de l'univers dans les jeux-vidéo j'imagine.

Ils vont faire une série sur les marines avec la découverte des Covenant, pour attirer les non fans de la série donc un véritable retour au source. Et pourquoi pas finir sur Reach et le début d'Halo CE. Comme ça si ça marche boum saison 2.

Jamais été fan de Halo, je préfère de loin Mass Effect en terme d'univers mais bon on va pas se plaindre ça fait quand même plaisir.

Master Chief will be "a lead character" in Showtime's upcoming Halo TV series, Showtime's President of Programming Gary Levine told IGN, although he won't be the only protagonist in the series.

"It took us a long time to get the script but we felt like we had something that was really interesting and felt like it belonged on Showtime in terms of its character depth, and it’s gonna be a big show."

"We made a conscious decision to hire a writer not known for sci-fi and not known for big battle movies, because that’s already baked into the Halo franchise and we will service that, but we also wanted to ensure that we were getting beneath the formidable armor of the Spartans and really getting inside the team drama so it felt like it belonged on Showtime," Levine added. "As David said, our hopes and dreams are that it will have enormous appeal to Halo fans and will also appeal to Showtime drama fans."

As for the difficulty of having a lead character whose face you never see, Levine admitted that that aspect of Master Chief's character "is a key question and an important part of our series, is all I’ll say."

When asked if the show would tell an original story or draw from the existing source material, Levine said, "It is a new story but we are being incredibly respectful of the canon and working with the Microsoft 343 people to be sure we don’t violate any of that."

Pourquoi pas, mais j'aurais préféré Adam Baldwin de la série Chuck dans le rôle. D'ailleurs, la VF du Master Chief est la même que celle d'Adam Badlwin, juste pour l'anecdote.
