"Uninstall Tribes 2. To do this:
-Click START, select PROGRAMS, select DYNAMIX, select TRIBES2,
select UNINSTALL TRIBES2.
-Select CUSTOM and click NEXT
-Click SELECT all and click NEXT, repeat with each subsequent
screen.
-Click FINISH. Tribes will uninstall.
Next, verify the Tribes 2 folder has been removed. To do this:
-Double-click the MY COMPUTER icon
-Double-click the hard drive, usually "C"
-Double-click the DYNAMIX folder, if there is a Tribes 2 Folder
located here, click once to highlight and click the DELETE key (on
the keyboard).
Next, empty the contents of the TEMP folder. Windows temporarily
stores files that may also be conflicting with the Sierra
installation program. These files are not required and may be
deleted. To do this:
- Click the START button on the taskbar.
- Go to PROGRAMS and select WINDOWS EXPLORER.
- On the left-hand side of Windows Explorer, double-click the
WINDOWS folder.
- On the right-hand side of Windows Explorer, double-click the TEMP
folder.
- Click on the EDIT menu at the top of Windows Explorer.
- Choose SELECT ALL from the Edit menu. All the files on the
right-hand side of Windows Explorer should now be highlighted.
- Click on the FILE menu and select DELETE with the left mouse
button.
- Answer YES to send all items to the Recycle Bin.
- Close all open windows.
Next, reinstall Tribes 2. Once the installation is completed, do not
start Tribes 2.
Download and install the Sierra Updater Update:
tribes2update.sierra.com
Next, it will be necessary to download the Tribes 2 patch. To do
this:
-Go to ftp://https://www.jeuxvideo.com//ftp3.sierra.com/pub/
-Double-click the PATCHES folder
-Double-click the PC folder
-Double-click the TRIBES2 folder
-Double-click the 21570-22755.exe file. This will initiate the FILE
DOWNLOAD menu.
-Select SAVE TO DISK and click "OK"
-Choose a location to SAVE IN: (we generally suggest setting the
SAVE IN window to DESKTOP) The downloaded file will appear as an
icon at the "Saved In" location.
Next, it will be necessary to create a PATCH folder within the GAME
DATA folder in the Tribes 2 folder. To do this:
-Double-click the MY COMPUTER icon
-Double-click the hard drive, usually "C"
-Double-click the DYNAMIX folder
-Double-click the Tribes2 folder
-Double-click the GAME DATA folder
-Right-click (right mouse button) a blank area and select NEW and
FOLDER. Type: Patch. If necessary right-click the New Folder and
select rename and type: Patch.
Next, it will be necessary to copy the downloaded patch to the patch
folder. To do this:
-Locate the downloaded patch (whichever location downloaded and
saved to).
-Right-click the patch icon and select CUT
-Double-click the MY COMPUTER icon
-Double-click the hard drive, usually "C"
-Double-click the DYNAMIX folder
-Double-click the Tribes2 folder
-Double-click the GAME DATA folder
-Right-click the PATCH folder and select PASTE. This will copy the
patch file to the PATCH folder.
-Re-open the GAME DATA folder by double-clicking
-Double-click the patch icon. This will initiate the patch
installation.
Upon completion of installation, re-start the system and start
Tribes 2.
