- La lune : présente dans le titre Moon Palace, la lune intervient tout au long de l’œuvre. La première phrase du livre précise que l’histoire de M.S. Fogg a débuté l’année où l’homme a posé le pied sur la lune. Le livre finit sur la contemplation de la lune " ronde et jaune comme une pierre incandescente " qui s’élève dans le ciel. De même, le groupe de l’oncle Victor se nomme " Les Moon Men " et le restaurant qui fait face à l’appartement de Marco le " Moon Palace ". La vie rêveuse de M.S. Fogg semble donc être placée sous le signe de la lune.
