Take Two & Yukes Set To Release Future WWE Games! Posted February 14th, 2013By SmacktalksSource: Smacktalks.org, Polygon.comTake-Two Interactive Software Inc. have reached an agreement with Wrestling Entertainment Inc. to publish future WWE Games developed by Yuke's Co.
The announcement was made by a 2k representative earlier today, which read:
"We can confirm that we have entered into an agreement to publish the WWE video game series that is developed by Yuke's. At this time, the agreement is pending court approval and we anticipate that it will be finalized shortly. We are very excited about the potential of this agreement and will have more to share at the appropriate time."
This move means that Yuke's will continue to develop future WWE games and continue working on WWE '14 which could still see a release later this year as the game was already well underway when THQ filed for bankruptcy.
The deal between the parties still requires court approval, but sources note that it "will be finalized shortly."
Following the termination of the previous contract, THQ are now set to pay $650,000 in royalty payments to WWE, while Yuke's will be given 14% percent in shares of Yuke's Co. that were owned by THQ (Reportedly worth $4.5 million) and a royalty payment of $250,000.
