Kreuziger joins Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank

[18.09 11:00] Roman Kreuziger will join Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank.
The versatile rider from Czech Republic and the team have agreed on a contract for the coming three years adding great strength to the roster.

26 year old Kreuziger is a strong and proven allrounder, skilled in both climbing and time trialling, which has seen him winning some significant stage races like Tour de Suisse and Tour de Romandie.
In 2011 Kreuziger was fifth in the GC in Giro d'Italia and won the young rider's classification followed by a mountain stage win in this year's Italian Grand Tour.

"Roman is a rider that I actually wanted to have on the team some years back. So that we have now been able to seal deal is something I'm extremely happy about. No doubt he will add significant strength to our roster, which his palmares also shows, and he can win races from classics to stage races. At the same time I also think Roman still have the potential to improve. We are going to work hard to fulfill this potential," team owner Bjarne Riis says.

"I believe Roman can be a very strong helper for Alberto in some of the races, but surely he will also get his changes to make results of his own."

Roman Kreuziger is equally happy about the prospect of riding for Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank.

"Personally I thought that now was the time for some new inspiration, and after I spoke with Bjarne and Alberto I was sure that Saxo Bank-Tinkoff Bank was the best choice for me. I know what I am capable of on the bike, and I know I have a chance of winning in a lot of different races, but over the last couple of years I've lost some of my confidence. Instantly when talking to Bjarne I felt he believed in me, and that this team can help me move on. I have seen how the team works with a young rider like Manuele Boaro, how hard work and dedication pays off, so I thought to myself, I just want to be part of this team," Roman Kreuziger says.

La seule équipe en danger c'est Euskaltel, les autres resteront en World Tour.

Cette équipe n'a pourtant rien démontré pour être en World Tour. Elle s'appuie certes sur 2 grands coureurs de renom, Kittel et Degenkolb, mais derrière à part Gretsch et Veelers, l'équipe n'est pas vraiment polyvalente.

Jon Aberasturi qui vient d'Orbea (23 ans) c'est un sprinteur dans le type de Urtasun

Garikoitz Bravo qui vient de Caja Rural (23 ans), une belle recrue pour l'avenir puisqu'il a terminé meilleur grimpeur du Tour de l'Avenir, et pourrait etre dans le type de Txurruka
