“Eiichirô Oda’s Scribble Corner” Feature Added to Official One Piece Website
In order to celebrate its first anniversary, the official Japanese One Piece website will add a new feature to its website Nov. 1.
The feature is called the “sketch corner,” specifically made for Eiichirô Oda himself.
According to the One Piece website, the site will be offering new features on there in the near future. The main new feature is the “Eiichirô Oda Scribble Corner,” which will feature messages from Oda himself on an irregular basis (not surprising considering his busy work schedule), likely similar to the Weekly Shonen Jump Author Comments, but more extensive. This special comment section is accessible via the “My Page” function after creating an account.
Here’s what Eiichirô Oda’s first comment looks like:

I heard we’d be starting a “Scribble Corner” and was told to “write about anything I want.” So it’s somewhat like a blog? Apparently I should write about what I think from the new merchandise. So that’s what I’ll do next time. Now I don’t really have anything to say though … Recently I’ve been hooked in burning things with charcoal. Until next time!

The website will apparently also feature more messages from the One Piece voice actors themselves in a new “At the Scene of the “One Piece” Anime” corner. The Straw Hat voice actors will also be featured on the site, in a corner dedicated to them.
Here’s a look at how the new “At the Scene of the “One Piece” anime” section looks like for episode 671 of the anime.
The official One Piece website started last year on Nov. 1, 2013 offering news about upcoming “One Piece” related goods, events and more. Over past year it has even started offering other features such as the possibility of “purchasing” One Piece anime character design sketches through the use of the website’s currency: Belly. By creating an account on the website and doing daily mini-games people can obtain more Belly, increase their pirate rank and even use the belly to obtain digital content from the One Piece anime or buy tickets to possibly win Oda’s signature in previous contests.
