Synopsis : It is a story about Geum-ja
In 1991, a horrible kidnap-murder case of a kid shocked Korea. People suprised that the criminal was so young ( then 20) and has a face of an angel. She confessed and sent to prison for 13 years.
In the prison, she swore her vengeance for the most evil man on the earth, Mr. Baek. One she never could forgive.
In 2004, she was released and while on parol, she got a job as a baker, which she learned the skill in the prison. Her former cellmates were deeply touched by her kindness before and willing to help her for the vengeance.
Finally, Geum-ja found Mr. Baek.
In the description of the movie, some information about actors Geum-ja(Lee Young-ae, JSA, One fine spring day), Mr. Baek ( Choi Min-shik, Oldboy). It looks like all the main charactors in Park´s previous vengeance series will appear as a Cameo ( including, Song Kang-ho, Bae Du-na, Shin Ha-kyun, Yu Ji-tae and Kang Hae-jung).

Q: Why " Kind Geum-ja"?
A: The original title was " Lee Geum-ja, the witch". Then I thought, the " witch" part was too simplifying the charactor of Geum-ja. One day, Choi Min-shik told me when he was casted " Failan", he insisted " Kind Kang-je" was better title. When I heard that I really liked the title. The word " Kind" conflicts with the hidden image of " witch" in the movie....

He talked about Geum-ja has multi-personality and he had a great interest in changes of personality in one person.
When he was asked why female charactor is doing vengeance this time, he replied that he felt bad that all women were viticms in his previous movies. He wanted some change, to explore the other side of vengeance.
He also compared Yu Ji-tae in Oldboy and Choi Min-shik in Geum-ja. He told us that Mr Baek ( Choi) is not like Woo-jin, it is impossible to symphasize Mr. Baek. He is the ´ultimate evil´.
He also said, Geum-ja will be more poetic compare with previous movies.

Baker Mr. Jang ( Our favorite Oh Dal-su) was impressed by Geum-ja´s baking skill and hires her in his bakery after her release.
Young baker Geun-sik falls for her and becomes her lover. Ex-detective Choi, who captured Geum-ja felt something was wrong and decides to help her.
And two characters who wouldn´t be so kind to Geum-ja.
" Witch" who bullied her inmates while Geum-ja was there. ( I guess she will be her first victim.)
" Preacher" worked in the prison and thought he changed Geum-ja. Later he found out he was fooled.
