FAQ: New Album (09-26-2002 until 05-26-2003)

We all know there has been some time since the last album Hello Nasty (1998). So when is the next album coming out? Well, to start off with, there has been no official statements from the band about an upcoming album release anytime soon. We´ve heard them mentioning working on new material but for the last year or so it´s been rather quiet.
Mix Master Mike - Beastie Boys DJ - has said in December 2001, January 2002 and June 2002 that a new Beastie Boys album is on it´s way. He chose to describe it as the eggs were about to hatch. And in late September 2002 MTV.com was saying that according to Capitol Records (Beastie Boys current label) there was no Beastie Boys project on the schedule so we should "not hold our breaths".
So what are the boys up to? According to Money Mark (Beastie Boys keyboardist) and Rolling Stone Magazine, Mike D just had a baby ca. Septmeber 2002 with his wife Tamra Davis. MCA has appearantly been traveling some for the last few months and did post on the Message Board in September 2002 about the James Newton counter lawsuite. We´ve also been told that Adrock is working on some Punk-Rock stuff. Unfortunately we currently don´t have any further information about this.
So while waiting for the new album, feel free to post on the Message Board. Put please try to avoid starting topics about questions concerning the new album. If it´s really important try looking up an old thread or contacting someone you think could provide you the information.
