Quelques joueurs ont pus jouer brièvement à shogun 2, voilà leurs impressions :
We played through a couple intro scenarios, the game looks visually better, though of course same as the NTW/ETW engines but much more crisp and added affects imo. Arrows, especially fire arrows are damn sexy. The naval practice scenario we played was pretty good, it will be much more different then the broadsides of empires, but the battling in shogun 2 in the sea is much more dependent on arrows and fire arrows, along with dedicated ships for boarding. I did find that setting ships on fire was awfully easy, maybe they should tweak it idk.
The gameplay is much more refined, sadly i didn't have the chance to play a siege battle so anyone who went, post it! The fighting mechanics and animations are better, loading animations like on a cannon are interesting to watch. The battling is hectic and i admit, unlike in Empires or hell previous total war installments, keeping reserves in this game just doesn't work. Sending all your men into battle apparently ensures victory or that you have a bloody chance. Archers are pretty badass in the game, overpowered? Perhaps, but after watching a short battle, (SHORT) battle of a 2v2 during my stay, one of the players decided to go all archer, and his partner chose all cavalry, the other 2 players i had a balanced army, but they got slaughtered.
The games music is simply lovely, the voice acting is an A+ as well. But basically, for multiplayer, they are still trying to refine and balance the issues with the MP clan battle system atm.
Army customization in Multiplayer, appearances of troops, general, and skill bonuses to your army is expanded greatly, didn't really get to dwell long enough on that however. In battle setup you can also pick special troops, i'm guessing theres more but in my timespan era, i could pick 2 different types of special units, both of which of course cost more but had good stats as well.

Q: Is the battle map directly related to the campaign map, such as in previous total war installments, Rome etc.
A: Still yes and yes
Q: Diplomatic Hostages???
A: Your child looks awesome, give him/her to me and we can call it peace and i won't beat the crap out of you in the process.
Q: Is the City Population a factor in recruitment?
A: Yes
Q: Will region resources affect what units you can recruit in an area?
A: Yes, such as producing good horses, allowing you to build special buildings in specific regions with special resources, and these resources in turn can be traded with other factions
Q: How do LOD4 Sprites look like?
A: Shader model 5, Animated Sprites, basically, it'll look better and you can see it farther
Q: Any FOW in the battle map?
No, but as with previous installments, hiding units, or even using the terrain to hide your units, such as behind hills will hide units
Q: What does food supplies do?
A: Basically, food is important, especially regions and provinces that produce, SO PROTECT THEM! If you fail to supply a castle, the troops garrisoned can rebel due to lack of food
Will generals/Agents/ have a more comprehensive dynamic trait system like RTW?
A: Yes, (Full RPG trait) Unlock skills from getting XP in battles, skills tree, general can choose to be specialized in land, sea, or governmental branch
Q: 4 Seasons, but 1 season of money as in SHOGUN1?
A: Nope. All seasons produce money
