Monaco marksman Dado Prso is fully aware of Fulham´s sustained interest in his services, although his remarkable four-goal haul in the record-breaking 8-3 win over Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday will surely alert other clubs to his abilities.
The Croatian striker´s contract expires in June and he will be quitting Stade Louis II after the Principality outfit made it clear they were prepared to sell him last summer.

Only an injury to Fernando Morientes allowed Prso the opportunity to impress in the Depor romp in the UEFA Champions League, but he will be difficult to dislodge after a tremendous display included a first half hat-trick.

" Monaco wanted to sell me in August but the offers arrived at the end of the mercato and Monaco were not sure to sell me at this time, after the injury to Shabani Nonda," he explained.

" But, for me, things did not change.
" I will be free next June. I´m ready to leave and have a new experience.
" I would love to play in England.
" I wanted to stay in Monaco. I thought I would sign a new deal. But the club is apparently not ready to propose me a new contract."

Fulham are keen to sign him in the New Year, but Prso has admitted there are other clubs on his trail.

" I have several contacts already," he affirmed.
" I have two contacts in Italy and Germany. I know also that Fulham still want me for the winter´s mercato. I talked recently with a scout of Fulham and one of them watched me in the game between Croatia and Bulgaria a few weeks ago.
" I don´t know if I will go there. But I´m interested by this offer."

Fulham failed with a deal reportedly valued at around £1.7 million, as reported at the time on planetfootball.com, back in August.

" It was a good offer for me and for the club," the 29-year-old recalled.
" I have to respect the position of the club.
" But now I would like to stay in Monaco until June to choose the best solution for me."

Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier has warned Rangers target Jean-Alain Boumsong he may have talked himself out of a move to Anfield.
The Auxerre defender has been a long-term target for Houllier, but it appears that Rangers have stolen a march on their rivals by agreeing a deal to sign the French ace on a free transfer next summer.

Boumsong has admitted that he has resisted overtures from Liverpool, Arsenal and Internazionale to agree a deal with Rangers.

Houllier is upset at Boumsong´s decision and admitted he is ready to drop his interest in the French international.

" If that is the case and Jean has made those comments, then he is not the type of player for Liverpool Football Club," said Houllier.

" We have shown an interest in Boumsong, but I want players who are happy to play for Liverpool, players who have a desire to pull on the red jersey.

" If he does not have that desire, it suggests he does not have the commitment to play for Liverpool."

Missing out on Boumsong would be a major blow for Houllier as he earmarked the powerful defender as one of his major signings for next season.

Tottenham have made a fresh bid to lure Brazilian teenager Diego to White Hart Lane.

Spurs agreed to pay Santos £7.6m for the player in August but talks broke down.

Now Santos coach Emerson Leao has confirmed the English Premiership club are keen to resurrect the deal.

" There is a new offer for Diego, who really wants to go to Europe," said Leao.

" But the president was very clear. If they pay what Santos want, then Diego leaves. If they don´t, he stays."

One of the stumbling blocks in original negotiations was the fact that Santos owned only 60% of Diego´s registration, with his father holding the remaining value.

In an effort to conclude a deal, Djair da Cunha agreed to reduce his percentage, but the move still did not come off.

Santos also made it clear they would not be prepared to release Diego until the end of the Brazilian Championship, which now has one round left to play.

Diego, who wears the Santos number 10 shirt that once belonged to Pele, has already broken into the full Brazil squad.

Nicknamed ´´Zidane Jr´´ after World Player of the Year Zinedine Zidane, the 18-year-old playmaker is in the second year of a five-year contract with the Brazilian club.

Les Glasgow Rangers ont annoncé avoir signé pour cinq ans avec le défenseur international français de l´AJ Auxerre Jean-Alain Boumsong. Celui-ci devrait rejoindre le club écossais à la fin de la saison 2003-2004.

Âgé de 24 ans, Boumsong est arrivé à Auxerre en 2000 en provenance du Havre. A ce jour, il compte 159 rencontres de L1 dont 18 cette saison comme titulaire.

Il a également été trois fois sélectionné en équipe de France ( 1 but marqué) depuis le mois de juin 2003. Jean-Alain Boumsong fait partie des joueurs qui pourraient participer à la phase finale de l´Euro 2004.
