"West Ham : Kanouté veut s’en aller"

L’attaquant français du club anglais de West Ham Frédéric Kanouté a manifesté mercredi la volonté de quitter les Hammers à la fin de la saison.

Mercredi, sur Sky Sports, une radio anglaise, Frédéric Kanouté a avoué tout son désarroi quant à sa situation à West Ham. L’attaquant français, blessé une bonne partie de la saison, est lassé de faire constamment des efforts pour ne même pas obtenir une place de titulaire. « J´ai beaucoup travaillé pour retrouver la forme après une saison très frustrante. Maintenant, je suis opérationnel et je ne joue pas aussi j´ai décidé que mon avenir serait ailleurs » a déclaré l’ancien Lyonnais.

Comme pour les autres Français du club Edouard Cissé ( subitement passé d’un match à l’autre d’un statut de titulaire à celui de remplaçant), Sébastien Schemmel ( apparemment définitivement écarté du groupe) et Youssef Sofiane ( auquel la moindre apparition en match officiel n’a pas été permis), Kanouté a appris à ses dépens qu’il était décidément bien difficile de se faire une place dans le onze de West Ham lorsque l’on n’est pas un joueur anglais.

Nice : Objectif : conserver les joueurs prêtés

Dans l’optique de la saison prochaine, l’OGC Nice a bien l’intention de conserver tous les joueurs qui ont été prêtés cette année au club niçois. Des joueurs clé de l’effectif comme Grégorini ou Abardonado devraient ainsi rester au club.

Nice sait trop à quel point il a besoin des joueurs qui lui ont été prêté cette saison et qui sont pour beaucoup, au même titre que les joueurs formés au club ou ceux venus un peu « de nulle part », dans la réussite du GYM pour envisager de s’en séparer à la fin de la saison.

La volonté des dirigeants niçois, qui ont déjà obtenu la prolongation de Rohr jusqu’en 2007, est donc de conserver tous ces joueurs prêtés. Nice va ainsi tout faire pour engager définitivement, ou encore prolonger leurs prêts, des joueurs comme Grégorini, Pitau, Abardonado, Bigné ou Meslin.

Rennes : Halilhodzic écarte Diatta

Après une altercation entre Vahid Halilhodzic et le défenseur du Stade Rennais, Lamine Diatta lors de la séance de mercredi, ce dernier a été écarté du groupe jusqu´à nouvel ordre et peut être même jusqu´à la fin de la saison.

Depuis ce matin, Diatta s´entraîne avec l´équipe réserve car, par ailleurs, il est rétabli de sa blessure au genou. « C´est la deuxième fois en deux jours qu´il me renvoie au vestiaire. Alors que j´étais aux soins, il m´a convoqué dans son bureau, j´ai refusé. Ensuite il a demandé au kiné d´arrêter de me soigner. Je n´ai rien à cacher ».

Lamine Diatta va pouvoir se consoler avec l´arrivée du petit Djibril qui est né, il y a deux jours, mais il est de plus en plus probable que le quart de finaliste de la dernière Coupe du Monde quitte le club breton en fin de saison. En effet, il ne lui restera qu´un an de contrat en juin et quatre clubs anglais ainsi que le Galatassaray s´intéressent à lui.

Gérard Bernardet explique pourquoi Montpellier signe tout d’un coup des contrats pros à ses stagiaires. L’entraîneur héraultais, qui assure que d’autres espoirs suivent, justifie ce sursaut par la situation financière du club.

Gérard Bernardet, comment s’est passée l’intégration des stagiaires dans le groupe pro ?
C’était un peu spécial, puisque l’on a du faire confiance aux jeunes. En fait, ils sont vite passés du Centre de Formation à l’équipe pro. Normalement, on les prend de temps en temps. Là, nous les avons pris tout de suite et ils ont su démontrer leurs qualités. Ils se sont vite retrouvés en Ligue 1, mais nous n’avions pas trop le choix.

Mais pourquoi les faire signer maintenant ?
Avant tout, c’est parce que nous voulons les garder et aussi car ils ont beaucoup de qualités. Mais c’est aussi pour ne pas qu’ils partent à l’étranger. De plus, si on a des joueurs sous la main, on ne va pas recruter à l’étranger. Pourquoi aller chercher ailleurs ce qu’on a sous la main ? Bien sûr, nous avons aussi voulu éviter les erreurs du passé.

Vous avez donc conscience d’avoir sous la main un vivier de jeunes talentueux ?
Evidemment. La formation a fait vraiment un bon boulot, comme toujours à Montpellier. En outre, vu le prix du marché des transferts, il vaut mieux former plutôt que d’acheter ailleurs…surtout vu la situation de Montpellier ! Mais il y a d’autres jeunes derrière.

Sheringham is Spurs´ leading goalscorer
Teddy Sheringham could be set for a final fling with Sporting Lisbon, according to reports.
The Portuguese giants have enquired about the 37-year-old Tottenham striker, who becomes a free agent in the summer.

And Sporting Lisbon are said to be ready to break the bank to persuade the former England star to join them.

Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle has so far failed to offer Sheringham a new deal, and he is likely to have to take reduced terms by the club even if they qualify for the Uefa Cup.

Sheringham in demand

Sporting have been in negotiations with Sheringham´s agent Barry Neville, who said: "Sporting have made an enquiry and we´re now waiting to hear from them again now.

"But we´ll wait and see and consider any options. We´ve not heard anything more from Spurs but we´ll probably sit down them and discuss the future."

The Spurs striker confirmed only last week he had received several contract offers from other clubs.

Sheringham is believed to earn in excess of £25,000, but such wages would not prove a stumbling block for Sporting who are desperate to sign a star name.

Sheringham joined Spurs on a free transfer from Manchester United prior to the start of the 2001-02 season.

He is in his second spell at the club and remains a popular figure at White Hart Lane.

Schmeichel has been plagued by a calf injury
Manchester City goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel has announced he will retire at the end of the season.
The 39-year-old has been frustrated by a persistent calf injury which has disrupted his season.

The former Manchester United keeper believes he cannot maintain the levels of fitness needed in the Premiership.

" My body is not happy any more," Schmeichel told the Sunday Times newspaper.

" I always promised I´d move on when this moment arrived. It´s time to end my playing career."
