RED DEVILS TRACK CHAIGNEAU
Manchester United are keeping close tabs on French youngster Florent Chaigneau.
The Old Trafford outfit have been given favourable reports on the Rennes keeper by scout Martin Ferguson, brother of manager Sir Alex.
Goalkeeping coach Tony Coton has reportedly studied videos of Chaigneau in action and it is likely that United will continue to monitor his development over the course of next season.
The 20-year-old only played seven matches last season but is expected to feature more prominently next term with Czech Republic number one Petr Cech departing for Chelsea.
Chaigneau is under contract until 2005.
Meanwhile, Rennes are looking for an attacking midfielder following an injury to playmaker Cedric Barbosa.
The knee problem suffered by Barbosa has prompted the Brittany outfit to contact Paris Saint Germain to enquire about Edouard Cisse´s availability.
The 26-year-old former West Ham loanee is only interested in a permanent move.
