FERGIE IS ´BUSY´ BUT UNITED IN NO RUSH
Manchester United are in no rush to snap up Morten Gamst Pedersen, but Sir Alex Ferguson is very busy looking at his transfer options, according to Old Trafford scout Geoff Watson.
The Red Devils have been tracking Tromso talent Pedersen with Watson pressed by the Norwegian media on United´s interest in the left winger.
Although keen to play his cards very close to his chest, Watson did admit that Ferguson is hard at work, no doubt fuelling speculation that United will make further moves in the transfer market after failing to snare anybody who could be considered an automatic first team selection thus far.
Alan Smith has arrived from Leeds United but faces a fight with Louis Saha for a starting spot and Gabriel Heinze will push to play either at left back or in the middle, although there is competition from John O´Shea, Mikael Silvestre and Wes Brown.
" We will not rush with regards to Morten," explained Watson to Bladet Tromso.
" We want to see him over time. We feel no pressure now despite the fact that the window is open.
" It is never too late for us.
" We have not asked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer about him. Nor will we do so. It´s just not the way that it works."
Tromso tackle Viking this weekend but Watson is not sure what Ferguson´s plans are relating to the game.
" It depends whether it suits our scouts," he added. " Right now, there are a lot of people on holiday so I´m not sure.
" But there is a chance we might have someone there.
" At least I know that I´m busy. Sir Alex is also busy at the moment. But I will not answer about what he is going to do.
" But, of course, we have got several more scouts who can see him ( Pedersen).
" It´s unusual that the press are waiting. It´s not so very often that they are aware of it. Therefore, I will not tell you what games we are covering or confirm anything in advance."
