UNITED CLOSE ON HEINZE SIGNING
Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Paris Saint Germain defender Gabriel Heinze after the player flew into England for further talks.
The Old Trafford outfit have lined up a five-year deal with PSG for the stopper and they hope to conclude a deal in the next 24 hours.
The Argentina international is understood to have already agreed terms with the FA Cup winners and United have reached an agreed fee with PSG after lengthy talks.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a big fan of the player and wants him to bolster his defensive options as he can in the centre of defence or at full back.
Heinze would compliment Rio Ferdinand in the heart of the Manchester United rearguard, possibly allowing Mikael Silvestre to switch back to left-back.
The deal was being held up as PSG were searching for a replacement before letting him go, but now they have lined up a deal for of Nantes Sylvain Armand to help fill the void by Heinze´s departure.
Meanwhile, United youngster Mads Timm has returned to the club from his loan spell at Viking.
Timm failed to impress caretaker boss Bjarne Berntsen during his loan stay at the Norwegian side and he will return to Old Trafford next month.
" He´s got extreme individual skills, but he is not the player we need," Berntsen told Aftenbladet.
on devrait le faire signer avant la fin de la semaine je pense.
