BAYERN PLAY DOWN KAHN EXIT
Bayern Munich have played down reports that keeper Oliver Kahn could leave the club by stating his still has two years remaining on his contract.
The 34-year-old is being linked with a surprise move to Premiership giants Manchester United, despite the club already possessing the likes of Tim Howard and Roy Carroll.
Bayern´s general manager Uli Hoeness wants Kahn to speak with club officials to sort out his future, if indeed he wants to leave the Olympiastadion outfit.
" If Kahn has a problem, he is asked to talk with us and not the press. Furthermore he should take a look at his contract which runs until 2006," said Hoeness.
Ottmar Hitzfeld´s successor Felix Magath added his weight to the argument by stating he sees the Germany number one remaining at the club next term.
" Why should I deal with the whole subject? I believe that Kahn will represent Bayern next season," claimed the former Stuttgart coach, who will start his job at the Sabener Strasse next month.
American shot-stopper Howard has been huge hit at Old Trafford this season, following his move from MLS, and it is unlikely The Red Devils are looking for keeping reinforcements.
