Darren Fletcher skippered Scotland to victory in Estonia, and then admitted that he had enjoyed his spell as captain.
The Tartan Army bagged their first away win since 2002 through James McFadden´s late second-half strike.
A typically level-headed Fletcher admitted, though, that the captaincy is not his to keep just yet, saying: " I´ve relished every minute of this week, but I know that experienced players like Christian Dailly and Barry Ferguson will come back in."
" It was a great night. Everybody was magnificent and we played good stuff.
" We´d been working in training on passing and moving and we knew that if we got it going, they wouldn´t be able to live with us.
" I think if the goal had come earlier, the flood-gates might have opened and it could have been three or four, but we´re just happy to get the result."
Ever the modest professional, Darren was showered with deserved acclaim by others.
Scotland coach Berti Vogts said: " In Darren Fletcher we have one of the biggest talents in the UK."
Meanwhile, Scots debutant Nigel Quashie said of the squad: " Some of the young players in the squad are different class, particularly Darren Fletcher who is really top drawer."
