NO BIG CHANGES FOR SIR ALEX

Sir Alex Ferguson has stressed that there will be new arrivals at Old Trafford during the summer, although he does not intend to make wholesale changes to his current squad.
The Manchester United manager has seen his side fail to remain on the coat-tails of Arsenal in the Premier League this season while their hopes of European glory were ended by Porto in the knockout stages.

With only the FA Cup still available, it was predicted several current first-team squad members could find themselves heading for the exit door in the summer.

However, Ferguson is keen to keep faith with many of his current players and wants to add to the talent he currently has at his disposal.

One major boost for the club will be the return of Rio Ferdinand next season as the former Leeds star has been sorely missed since being banned for missing a drugs test.

" We want to get ourselves sorted out in the summer," stated the Red Devils chief. " We would like to bring one or two players to the club.

" Rio Ferdinand will be coming back in September, which is obviously a boost because his departure was a pivotal moment in the season."

Meanwhile, defender Mikael Silvestre will not take part in the Fifa centenary game between France and Brazil next Thursday.

The player was originally selected in a 30-man squad by French coach Jacques Santini but an arrangement between club and country has been reached allowing him to remain in England to prepare for the FA Cup final on May 22.

" Mikael will stay with us for the final," explained Ferguson.

" My understanding with Mr Santini was that Mikael will be in the final with us and report the day after the game."

" Crespo is a great player but I don´t think that he would be comfortable with being a second choice," the vice-president said. " Torres and Fabiano are both talented strikers but I don´t think that they will join us".

" Corradi is one of the best forwards in Italy and he would be a great signing for AC Milan," Galliani added. " I don´t know yet what will happen because we haven´t made a decision yet".

c´est trop simple de remettre la faute sur ferdinand .
