Crespo´s " huge" wages put Milan off summer swoop
Serie A champions AC Milan have brushed aside speculation that Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo is on their summer shopping list.
Milan, who earlier this month strengthened their midfield with the signing of Frenchman Vikash Dhorasoo, are now in search of a striker to reinforce their squad for the next campaign.
According to reports Crespo, who has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge, is an interesting candidate for Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.
But Crespo´s possible move to AC Milan is out of the question according to club vice-president Adriano Galliani.
" It´s an impossible task because Crespo has a huge salary,´´ Galliani admitted.
The Rossoneri, who have one of the best forward lines in Italy´s top flight with Serie A´s highest goalscorer Andriy Shevchenko, Italian international Filippo Inzaghi and Danish striker Jon Dahl Tomasson, are not looking for another top gun.
" We will be looking for a striker in line with the club´s technical side, a striker who would be happy to start on the bench,´´ Galliani explained.
According to the vice-president, the Argentinean international would be unlikely to accept such conditions.
" Would he [Crespo] come to Milan to be the fourth striker?´´ he asked.
