KENYON: LAMPARD STAYING PUT
Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has insisted the club have no plans to sell England international Frank Lampard this summer.
The former West Ham star has enjoyed a terrific season for the West Londoners and as well as scooping the club´s Player of the Year award was also runner-up in both the PFA and Football Writers´ Player of the Year awards.
However, Lampard is thought to be unhappy at Chelsea´s failure to offer him a new deal as reward for his displays, and there have been suggestions he could be sacrificed if a tempting offer comes in for him.
Italian giants Internazionale and Juventus are reported to be keen on the 25-year-old midfielder but Kenyon has assured Blues fans that Lampard is an integral part of the club´s future - and could even spend the rest of his career at Stamford Bridge.
" Frank has two years to go on his contract and there is no suggestion Chelsea will sell him," Kenyon declared.
" Frank is someone we would like to stay at Chelsea for the rest of his career."
The former Manchester United chief also went on to insist that the club would not be signing a host of new stars on reputation alone this summer.
The Blues seemed to have been linked with just about every major name in European and World football as the summer transfer market prepares to swing into action, but Kenyon explained the club had a specific transfer policy.
" Players will only be brought in if they complement our existing squad. We won´t buy players just because we like their name. They must be able to improve the team."
ils vont pas le lacher lampard . ..

Why I´ll never go to Italy or Spain
Ruud van Nistelrooy last night ruled out a summer move to Real Madrid by claiming he would not be able to cope with the constant hassle from Spanish fans. Manchester United´s £30million-rated striker is wanted by Real but van Nistelrooy fears he would not be able to lead a normal life if he joined the Spanish giants. " In Spain and Italy I would not have a life among the fans," said van Nistelrooy. " Everyone wants to touch you, own you and approach you. I try to be as kind as possible to all my fans, but in those countries I could not do it. They ask too much from you. They would want to be, literally, on top of you all day. I really love the country life near Manchester."

£40m Ruud
Real Madrid will make an official £40million bid for Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy within the next fortnight. Although United say the Holland striker is not for sale at any price, Real President Florentino Perez believes a £40m bid would almost certainly be successful as the plc board at Old Trafford have a duty to their shareholders to listen to serious offers.

Timebomb in Ruud´s head
Ruud van Nistelrooy has admitted that losing sends him into a frenzy and turns him into a timebomb impossible to live with. The Old Trafford ace explained: “When we got knocked out against Porto in the Champions League, I slept only two hours that night. I was not a nice person to be with after that match. I was struggling to get the result out of my system. People say it is part of the game. You win some, you lose some. But not for me. Losing is not in my vocabulary. Nobody understands how much I gear myself up for these big matches. I charge up and I get fired up as if I have to let a timebomb go off. When the end result goes the other way, I am stuck with all the energy and aggression. Things get too much for me then. When it comes to losing with United, I feel solely responsible for it. I can’t help it. My brain will work like mad after a defeat."

It´s Nist the fist
Ruud van Nistelrooy has revealed how he ‘went berserk’ and sent a gang of thugs packing after they had attacked one of his pals in Manchester. The United hitman revealed: “I was out with my mates one night when a few thugs came up to us and one of them lashed out at my mate. He was hit in the face. I went berserk. When I came forward and confronted them, they were shocked and they did not know what to do. I found their actions very sad.”

United and Chelsea´s Drogba dogfight
Manchester United and Chelsea are in a £15million transfer battle to sign Marseille´s red-hot striker Didier Drogba. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson likes the big, powerful front-runner whose displays have terrorised Liverpool and Newcastle United. And Chelsea have also been alerted to Drogba´s performances as owner Roman Abramovich searches for new goalscoring talent. Agents working for both clubs have been in touch with Marseille this week and have been told Drogba is not for sale. But that position would change if the price was right for the Ivory Coast hotshot.

United´s £30m Torres KO
Manchester United have had a sensational £30million bid rejected for Fernando Torres. It is the second time Alex Ferguson has been knocked back in his quest to land the Atletico Madrid striker. The latest offer for the 20-year-old Spaniard included £27million cash plus Uruguay frontman Diego Forlan. But Atletico will not consider selling before Euro 2004, where Torres is tipped to be one of the stars of the tournament and could hike up his transfer value. Atletico president Enrique Cerez said: “We have had an incredible offer but we have refused and we will continue to refuse. Torres is not for sale.

Fergie flies in for Norway´s ´Becks´
Manchester boss Sir Alex Ferguson will make a personal check on Norway´s David Beckham - Tromso left winger Morten Pedersen. Ferguson is due to fly out to watch Pedersen, 22, play for the league leaders next week as he weighs up a a bargain deal. The United chief has been looking for a left-sided winger since Arjen Robben snubbed him to go to Chelsea. Ferguson wants an under-study and eventual replacement for Ryan Giggs and has been quoted huge fees for the likes of Valencia´s Vicente Rodriguez.

Giggs: Let´s sign Smith
Ryan Giggs has urged his Manchester United bosses to swoop for Alan Smith. Striker Smith, 23, refused to rule out a move to Leeds’ rivals following his Yorkshire club’s relegation to Division One and Old Trafford winger Giggs insists the England star would be welcomed into the fold with open arms. He said: “There has been a lot of talk about Alan Smith saying he’d be interested in a move to Manchester United. Any player in the Premiership would want Alan in their team and we are no different. He is a very good player and we would certainly welcome him at Old Trafford. I can’t pretend there isn’t a huge rivalry between ourselves and Leeds and it doesn’t often happen that a player moves from one to the other."
