Ricky Sbragia´s Reserve team grabbed a rather fortuitous 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday night.
The Reds were indebted to goalkeeper Tom Heaton for keeping them in the game as they trailed through a first-half own goal by Jon Spector.
However, an unlikely win looked on the cards for United as two goals in two minutes completely flipped the game on its head.
David Jones embarrassed the Blackburn keeper with a swerving 25-yard drive after 72 minutes, and within a minute David Poole had slotted home to put the visitors ahead.
An experienced Blackburn side did gain the point they deserved with a minute remaining through Steven Reid´s tap-in, and David Poole saved a point for the Reds with a goal-line clearance in the dying seconds.
United reserves final league match of the season is scheduled for Thursday 22 April against Newcastle at Altrincham FC´s Moss Lane ground.

Forlan is off in a rage
Diego Forlan looks to have played his last match for Manchester United. The Uruguay international, 24, delivered a public snub to boss Alex Ferguson on Tuesday after being substituted early in the second half of the 1-0 win over Leicester. Forlan refused to return to the dugout and stormed down the Old Trafford tunnel. It was the final insult for the striker who believes he has been unfairly treated this season. He does not want to leave but now accepts he must go for the sake of his career.

Ruud wants Barce move
Ruud van Nistelrooy is ready to leave Manchester United for Spain. The Dutchman fancies a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Van Nistelrooy, who has hit 18 Premiership goals this season, is keen on a new challenge. Despite denials, his agent Roger Linse discussed wage terms with Barcelona vice-president Sandro Rossell on Monday. And Barca president Joan Laporta told United chief executive David Gill at a G14 meeting in Valencia last month that he wanted Van Nistelrooy. United have already tried to cool rumours the Van Man is on his way. Yet his Old Trafford future IS now on a knife-edge, despite him having signed a new 4½-year deal in the New Year.

Workers are United
Fabien Barthez has revealed how Alex Ferguson modelled his reign at Old Trafford on one of the most famous photographs ever taken. It shows workers eating lunch sat on a steel girder 800 feet up during the construction of the RCA Building in New York’s Rockefeller Centre in 1932. And boss Fergie sees the same brotherhood in the men pictured that he has always tried to breed in his Manchester United teams. The French international, who arrived from Monaco for £7.8million in May 2000, said: “I saw this big photo hung on the wall behind him. He tells you ‘That’s United’. For him, it’s the image of the club, people building, taking risks, living together, everyone pulling in the same direction.”

Cup final tickets snub to Millwall
Manchester United will receive 14,000 more tickets than Millwall for next month’s FA Cup final. The FA have abandoned their normal 50-50 split for the game at the Millennium Stadium on May 22. United will get 38,000 seats while the Lions must settle for 24,000. The move comes after South Wales Police voiced fears about hooliganism. Millwall have complained about the uneven allocation for their first FA Cup final appearance in the club’s 119-year history. But an FA spokesman said: “Police requested a ‘neutral area’ be allocated to specific clubs because of segregation issues."

I´ll let Keane be captain
Kenny Cunningham is ready to let Roy Keane take over as Republic of Ireland skipper. The Birmingham defender has worn the captain’s armband since the 2002 World Cup campaign. Keane ended his two-year international exile this week. And Cunningham accepts that boss Brian Kerr may want the Manchester United midfielder to resume as skipper. Cunningham said: “It is an issue for the manager to decide. I was fortunate enough to receive the honour of captaining my country from Mick McCarthy and upon Brian Kerr’s appointment. I always considered it a great honour to be asked to lead out the team but, if Brian asks me to give the armband to anybody else, then I’ll give it. No question.”

Forlan stars
Manchester United will listen to offers for South American flops Diego Forlan and Kleberson this summer as Sir Alex Ferguson begins rebuilding his squad. Fergie has decided to cut his losses on Forlan after two- and-a-half unconvincing seasons at United, while Kleberson will be allowed to leave after failing to settle following his £5million move to Old Trafford last summer. Brazil World Cup winner Kleberson has played 14 games this season and come nowhere near to satisfying Fergie´s pre-season expectations, while Forlan has run out of time to salvage his Reds career.

Giggs Euro pledge
Ryan Giggs has told the Manchester United old guard they must capture the European Cup again to go down in history as a great side. The 30-year-old is one of half a dozen survivors from the team which in 1999 lifted the biggest prize in European club football. That victory over Bayern Munich promised to be the start of a period of domination in the competition by United. But they have failed to reach another final and crashed out in the first knockout stage this season. In the same time period, Real Madrid have won it three times. Giggs said: " It was a great achievement but I think we need to go on and keep winning in Europe. To be regarded alongside the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan, we need to win it again."

Tough Year Will Accentuate Youth Development
This has been a season of surprises, and there was another shock before we took on Leicester on Tuesday night.
It was a little bit of a surprise to learn that Roy Keane is to come out of international retirement. I know he always wanted to patch up his differences with his country, and this is the best way of doing it. I can understand that, but I think it may prove to be too many games – it’s not what we are looking for.
However, I suppose the key to all of this is that Roy is supported by his manager. Roy Keane has been terrific for Manchester United and if he wants to represent his country – let’s be honest, it’s what most people dream of doing – then this can only be good for him. It may have a positive effect in that, playing at the very highest level can sometimes keep you at the top for longer, but my only concern is the number of games he will be expected to play.
It wasn’t the greatest of spectacles, certainly not an enthralling football match against Leicester on Tuesday. But these games are all good for the likes of David Bellion, Fletcher, Ronaldo and Djemba-Djemba, who all played their part, to gather valuable Premiership experience.
If you can give younger players experience and still win the game, then it’s a very useful exercise.
It’s been a season where a lot of questions have been asked about United. And, you may think that the those circumstances are not the best environment for a developing young player. But, in two of our most promising young players, Darren Fletcher and Ronaldo, they have the strength of character to use the difficulties they have faced this season to their advantage. Both have matured so much this year, and I am sure that in the long-term this season will have a positive bearing on their careers.
Some players can be affected in a negative way by breaking into the side too early, it can become too much for them to deal with. But the manager has – once again – played it perfectly; leaving them out when they’ve needed a rest, putting them in at the right moment to get expereience. You’re inclined to play them all the time, especially when they play like Cristiano has recently, and like Darren did against Arsenal.
Another United youngster, David Bellion still needs to polish his game up a bit. He has tremendous pace, but sometimes he is too quick for the ball!
Ronaldo was exciting every time he received the ball – there is also a great deal of expectation whenever he is in possession. He’s one of those players that gives the fans a real buzz every time he gets the ball. He did that in his first game against Bolton, but he’s come on in leaps and bounds since then. When you watch him play, you can see that he is listening to the advice he is being given by the coaching staff. He’s got a great future ahead of him.
For me, though, Wes Brown again put in an outstanding display. I knew we just needed to be patient with him when he first came back. But, you can’t deny in his first few games following his comeback, he looked to have lost that something. He’s certainly regained it now. He’s had to deal with so much, so many injuries that would have perhaps stopped other players in their tracks.
Wes stood out like a beacon for me against Leicester. He’s 90% there for me.
The win, although not full of entertainment, puts us well within sight of Chelsea. We’re three points off them with a game in hand and still to play them. Obviously we have the FA Cup final to look forward to, but we still have plenty to play for in the league. Finishing in second place isn’t bad considering this season could be considered one of transition. Hopefully a strong finish will lead to the momentum running over into next season.
It’s always a difficult game against Chelsea especially at Old Trafford. To finish second would be a positive end to the season and I am sure that is what we are after.
< <<< et kerian atrrive en plus de ronaldo et fletcher .
mais ruud va t´il rester
Forlan plus que jamais sur le départ ^^
=>Forlan ´to exit Man Utd´
Manchester United are set to sell Uruguay striker Diego Forlan in the summer, according to reports.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford since signing from Independiente for £7.5m in 2002.
He has made just 36 starts for United and is behind Louis Saha and Ruud van Nistelrooy in the pecking order.
Forlan was taken off after 55 minutes of the win over Leicester on Tuesday and walked off down the tunnel, a move that angered boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Spanish sides Sevilla and Real Betis are rumoured to be interested and Forlan may be allowed to leave for around £2m.
United could also be set to cash in on Brazilian midfielder Kleberson, who has made only 14 appearances for the club since a £5.9m move from Atletico Paranaense.
Kleberson - a 2002 World Cup winner with Brazil - has failed to settle in Manchester since his high-profile August transfer.
He dislocated a shoulder in September and has not managed a proper run in the team since.

YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR NOMINEES
There will be a new name on the PFA Young Player of the Year trophy this season with six candidates vying for the prestigious prize.
The good news for Sven Goran Eriksson is that five of the players are English, with three of the sextet plying their trade for Claudio Ranieri´s Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge side are well represented by Glen Johnson, Scott Parker and John Terry and one of the trio must be in with a great shout of coming out on top once the full details of the voting are announced.
Teenage striker Wayne Rooney, who was pipped to the award by Jermaine Jenas last season, is rewarded for settling smoothly into international football and continuing to make progress with Everton.
Manchester City´s versatile Shaun Wright-Phillips has been in the news after earning his first England call-up and starring for Kevin Keegan´s side as they bid to avoid relegation to the Nationwide League.
Wright-Phillips is joined on the shortlist by Arsenal´s Kolo Toure.
The Ivory Coast international has been one of the most improved players in The Premiership and has cemented a central defensive slot alongside Sol Campbell as Arsenal threatened to sweep all before them.
The Gunners remain unbeaten in the league and the effervescent African must have a good chance of emerging victorious at the glitzy awards dinner.
PFA Young Player of the Year nominations 2004:
Glen Johnson ( Chelsea)
Scott Parker ( Chelsea)
Wayne Rooney ( Everton)
John Terry ( Chelsea)
Kolo Toure ( Arsenal)
Shaun Wright-Phillips ( Man City)
Ronaldo est meme pas dans la liste il le mériterait pourtant.
Je pense que Shaun Wright-Phillips le mérite vraiment.
J´aimerai mieux voir partir Butt que Kleberson quand même ^^
