Peu de rumeurs aujourd´hui, alors une déclaration de SAF:
" Fergie Not Expecting A Classic"
The manager may not be expecting a classic on Sunday - instead the United boss believes the game will be very tight - Sir Alex does think the league match has a bearing on the outcome of the rest of the season.
This is what the manager had to say at his regular Friday press conference...
Injury Situation
”We’re having to play players with injuries, there’s no doubt about that. There are quite a few little knocks. But, they all want to play against Arsenal. We’ll have a very big squad – everyone available to us we will take down. I’ve no solid idea of what my team will be, but I will play Roy Carroll. Tim deserves his little break. It will freshen him up.”
Tim Howard Impressive
”He’s had an unbelievable season. At 24 years of age, the promise he has is fantastic.”
Not Expecting A Classic
”Somehow, I don’t think we will get a classis on Sunday. Although both sides are capable of scoring a lot of goals, I think it will be a tense affair.”
Still Hope For The Title?
”We’re running out of time and games. You always live in hope. The more important issue is that, if we win this game, we can really look forward to the FA Cup semi final the following week.”
Tense Atmosphere From Past Encounters
”My concern is about our behaviour. The whole world saw the Arsenal behaviour last time. How they feel their guilt on that, I don’t know. My main concern is to make sure Manchester United behave themselves properly. You hope it doesn’t spill over from the last game. It doesn’t do the game any favours.”
Chelsea-Arsenal Match A Great Advert
”That game was a great advert for the British game. Two English teams playing in the quarter finals of the Champions League. Intensity, commitment from both teams, it was a fantastic game of football. That’s what we want to be talking about, and hopefully on Sunday night we will be talking about the right things.”
Assessing Arsenal
”They’ve had a great season. They are a very powerful, aggressive, athletic team. They have a lot of speed in their team as well. To go through the season undefeated in our competition is very difficult. They’ve done fantastically well.”
Implications For The Semi Final?
”I don’t know. Both teams will be thinking about the game on Sunday. But, I’ve had my eye on the semi final, and I have done for quite a while since the draw was made. So, we’ll be looking forward to that.”
Missing Not Being Involved In Europe
”Of course you miss not being involved. When it gets to the quarter finals of the European Cup, the only people that are happy if you’re not involved are the wives so they can watch Coronation Street.”
