What have you made of Leeds United´s pretty desperate situation?
The problems they´ve got have been well documented. I don´t think it really affects the players because they´re just trying to get on with their football and trying to survive. So I think they´ll be fighting for their lives on Saturday.
Do you still see Leeds as a big danger despite their current situation?
Yes because there´s a big rivalry between the clubs and it´s always a difficult game against them, whether it be at home or away. I´m sure Saturday will be no different. They´ve got quality players in their side who can cause you problems.
How important will this weekend be in the title race given that Arsenal face Chelsea?
It´s a big weekend but every weekend is a big one now. We´ve got to win all our games and rely on Arsenal slipping up by either losing or drawing a few games.
How do you see the situation at the top of the table?
Arsenal are looking strong at the moment but I think it will be very difficult to go through the whole season without losing a game. We´ve just got to make sure we´re ready to step in when they do slip up.
" This time of the season is always the most important. We need to get a bit of momentum going and try to go through the rest of the season unbeaten."
Paul Scholes
Roy Keane´s been quite critical of some of the younger players this week, but what have you made of the team´s recent performances?
We´ve not been playing as well as we can do. We´re still winning our fair share of games but as far as the performances are concerned we haven´t been great. We know we can´t afford to drop any more points and we´ve got to make sure we win all our games.
How important is this stage of the season?
This time of the season is always the most important. The Champions League starts again and we need to get a bit of momentum going and try, if we can, to go through the rest of the season unbeaten. We know that´s the kind of run we need to put together if we´re to win anything.
How much has Louis Saha´s arrival impacted on the way the team´s playing at the moment?
He´s been brilliant since he´s been here. He´s so good at holding the ball up and is obviously a big goal threat with his pace. And he´s already shown in the few games he´s played for us that he can finish well.
Have you been surprised at how well Louis and Ruud are working together after such a short time?
Yes. He and Ruud have done very well together. Louis´s also linked up very well with the midfield players and he can drop off the play like Dwight Yorke and Teddy Sheringham used to do. At Everton especially, he linked up well with the midfielders and a lot of the play that day went through him.
How much of a problem is his pace to opposing defenders?
His pace is frightening. He can come short or go over the top and pretty much do anything that a quality centre forward needs to do. We´re grateful to have him in our team.
