PSV Eindhoven have revealed that Chelsea are set to join United in the race to sign Dutch prodigy Arjen Robben.
The 19-year-old had been strongly linked with a summer switch to Old Trafford, but now PSV Chairman Harry van Raay says that Chelsea have enquired about the player.

Van Raay told De Telegraaf: " We talked about other things as well, but it is correct that Chelsea have asked us for Robben.

" Chelsea wanted to know, for instance, how the negotiations with Manchester United are going. I have told them that we are still waiting for another round of talks."

However, the player´s father and agent, Hans Robben, told Voetbal International: " It´s either Manchester United or PSV."

ManUtd.com can confirm that Louis Saha will be given United´s number nine shirt if he completes his transfer from Fulham.

The legendary shirt has been vacant since Andy Cole left for Blackburn in December 2001, but will be worn by the Frenchman if the move goes through.

Saha is set to link up with one of Europe´s finest strikers in Ruud van Nistelrooy, but he has also voiced his admiration of another striker - Arsenal´s Thierry Henry.

" The player I admire and want to emulate the most is Thierry," said Saha. " He is the most complete striker in the world right now and has all the qualities a striker needs to be the best.

Saha also expressed optimism as his ability to play as a lone striker for United, having filled the position for Fulham.

" I played as a lone striker at Fulham and it suited me. I know I can play that way at United if that´s what is required of me. But of course, it´s up to the manager how he wishes to use me."

If ManUtd.com readers get their way, however, Louis won´t be upfront on his own.

We asked where the Frenchman would fit into the United side when he completes his protracted move, and 75.9% of voters felt upfront with Ruud was his rightful place.

In the hole behind Ruud came second with 13.7%, while a cheeky 9.2% wanted to see Saha on the bench! Only 1.1% of voters would play Saha on the wing.
