Youri Djorkaeff believes the signing of Louis Saha can give United the edge over Arsenal in the title race.
The Bolton star says Saha´s arrival at Old Trafford will not only provide some much needed support for Ruud van Nistelrooy, it could spell trouble for Arsenal who, Djorkaeff says, rely too heavily on Thierry Henry.
“All Arsenal fans must pray every morning that Thierry has woken up fit and well," he told The Sun.
" I do not know how many games he plays but it seems to be an awful lot in all competitions. There is a huge reliance on him for Arsenal, just as there has been at Manchester United with Ruud van Nistelrooy.
“They have obviously got Saha to help him and take some of the goalscoring burden off his shoulders. Now Arsenal need to do the same. They need to go out and get another striker themselves now — otherwise they could be left behind," he added.
" I can see Louis forming a great partnership with van Nistelrooy and also taking on the frontman role on his own."
Djorkaeff on Saha
Djorkaeff has been hugely impressed by Saha´s recent performances for Fulham and the former French international believes his compatriot will be an even greater success at Old Trafford.
“Not a lot was said about Louis in France until he came over here to England," revealed the World Cup winner.
“He was such a good signing at Fulham scoring some great goals. Now he’s going up a level at Manchester United. I can see him forming a great partnership with van Nistelrooy but also taking on the frontman role on his own.
“He is going to be so much more in the public eye now and that is going to give him a better chance of getting his first international cap.
“Obviously he’s behind the likes of Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet. But at United he will be getting so many more chances to score he can really start to push himself forward on the international front," added Djorkaeff.

=>Nouveau coup dur pour Solskjaer...
" Solskjaer in new injury blow"
Solskjaer has been out since September
Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems likely to miss the rest of the season after discovering he needs another knee operation.
The Norwegian had hoped to make his return for United´s reserves on Thursday after missing his initial intended comeback date last week.
But the 30-year-old now faces more time on the sidelines.
" It´s a very serious injury and we must be patient," said Solskjaer´s agent Jim Solbakken.
Solskjaer has not played for United since September, missing 25 matches in the process.
" It is so frustrating for him at the moment"
Solskjaer´s agent Jim Solbakken
The striker had an operation on his cartilage on 23 September, but now needs another exploratory operation and Solbakken warned it may be several more months before the problem is resolved.
" It can take three months to heal, or even a year," he said.
" Ole´s injury is similar to the one that ended ( former Manchester City and Norway midfielder) Alf-Inge Haaland´s career.
" That doesn´t mean it will happen with Ole, but no-one will really know anything until the doctors have another look inside his knee."
Solskjaer´s continued absence has been partially offset by the capture of Louis Saha from Fulham.
But United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hoped to use the Norwegian more in the right-sided midfield role where he excelled last season.
=>Info démentie par MU ^^
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says " everything is ok" in his recovery from a knee operation after false reports suggested the Reds striker could face a further three months on the sidelines.
Ole has been out for four months after undergoing knee surgery back on 23 September. However, following a set-back in training earlier this month, Solskjaer was told by Sir Alex Ferguson to take a week´s break.
Solskjaer told ManUtd.com: " I trained with the first team last week and had planned to play against Birmingham for the reserves. But, Sir Alex advised me to recharge my batteries and take a week´s holiday.
" It´s important for me to follow the advice of the medical staff and I must be patient and not too eager.
" It´s important for me to follow the advice of the medical staff. I must be patient and not too eager. However, everything is ok."
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
" With the team doing so well at the moment, there is no need for me to rush my recovery plan. However, everything is ok."
Ole´s personal manager Jim Solbakken had been wrongly quoted in Norwegian newspaper VG as saying the injury could take a further three months to heal.
Sir Alex had confirmed to us last week: ”We think he did a little bit too much one day a week ago. We’re just giving him a rest this week and then he’ll be back training next week."
Although a deal to sign Fulham striker Louis Saha has been agreed in principle, Ole would make a welcome return - either to further bolster United´s attack or, as he did last season, provide much needed ammunition to Ruud from a wide right position.
Don´t go to court Fergie
Manchester United want Alex Ferguson to drop his legal action against the club’s major shareholders. Fergie will return from a break with his team in Dubai on Friday and go straight into high-level talks with the club board. The directors will encourage him to end his battle with Irish racehorse owners John Magnier and J P McManus over Rock of Gibraltar stud rights. This week Magnier and McManus increased their stake in the club to 25.49 per cent. If the investment reaches 30 per cent they are duty bound to launch a takeover of the club. The board are not prepared to try to force Ferguson into making this decision but are keen for him to negotiate an out-of-court settlement.

Time to play it smart
As a man raised in the ask-no-favours world of Govan shipyards, Alex Ferguson’s natural instinct has never been to take a step back. His birthplace — in fact, his very birthright — has given him the aggression and cutting edge to be the most successful domestic manager ever. But there comes a time in even the most determined street-fighter’s life when discretion has to be the greater part of valour. For the long-term benefit of Manchester United and their vast army of increasingly concerned supporters, that time has arrived. He must stage some strategic withdrawal from his potentially crippling court case with major United shareholder John Magnier over the multi-million pound ownership and stud fees associated with racehorse Rock of Gibraltar.

Ole hit by new KO blow
Ole Solskjaer needs another operation on his knee and could be out for a further three months. Solskjaer’s agent Jim Solbakken confirmed Manchester United’s Norwegian international broke down in training and must undergo an exploratory op. Solbakken revealed Solskjaer’s original injury is similar to that which finished the career of former Manchester City midfielder Alfie Haaland. He does not believe Solskjaer will suffer the same fate but is worried about the operation. Solbakken said: “The injury is one that can take between three months and a year to heal. It is very serious and everyone needs to be patient."

It´s Man Utd on the lash
Manchester United stars have been boozing into the early hours between training sessions on their break in Dubai. While midfielder Paul Scholes and Cristiano Ronaldo had some fun in their rubber rings at a water park yesterday, defender Wes Brown was thrown out of a bar for drunken behaviour. The team, on a luxury four-day break in the Gulf resort without wives and girlfriends, seemed determined to live it up.

Dutch kid targeted
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to increase his bid to land £5million-rated Dutch forward Robin van Persie from Feyenoord. The Gunners have been tracking 20-year old van Persie for more than a year but are now trying to push the deal through before the January transfer window closes.

I´m coming to get you
World Cup Final referee Pierluigi Collina will be invited to move to the Premiership after retiring next year. Bald-headed Collina, 44 next month, is regarded as the world´s best referee but will not be allowed to carry on in Serie A beyond next season because the Italians have an age limit of 45 for their officials. But referees are allowed to carry on until they are 48 in the Premiership and Collina would be welcomed to come to England and take charge of top-flight matches.

< << plus que jamais la position de fergie est fragile . il n´est plus sur qu´il resigne un nouveau contrat .

Fabien Barthez says he would like to make his loan move to Olympique Marseille a permanent switch.
Barthez is currently on loan with the French First Division club having dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford. But the France international says he would like to end his career with OM.
" I really would like to finish my career in Marseille," he said. " I like the region and the club."
Barthez was at Marseille when the French side won the European Cup in 1993 and, having moved on to United via Monaco, he is delighted to have returned to Stade Velodrome.
" When I first heard that I could come here I was extremely excited and motivated," said Fabien. " I first came in Marseille at the age of 20 and I learnt everything here.
" I experienced so many things here that it helped me go through various situations afterwards."

Henry proche du Real ?
Selon le quotidien espagnol As, Thierry Henry pourrait rejoindre le Real Madrid.
Henry prochain galactique ?
