United and Fulham reject Saha switch agreement claim

Manchester United and Fulham have denied Louis Saha´s claim that the two clubs have reached an agreement over a move to Old Trafford.

The French striker has been a target of United manager Sir Alex Ferguson as he seeks back-up for star forward Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The Cottagers are understood to have rejected an £8m bid from the Premiership champions earlier this month and both clubs were insistent on Wednesday that there has been no movement on the deal since then.

Fulham spokesman Chester Stern said: " There has been no fresh bid from Manchester United. There is no truth in the story at all.´´

Manchester United will not enter into any swap deal involving Middlesbrough defender Gareth Southgate for transfer-listed Nicky Butt.

The 28-year-old England star had his request for a move granted by Old Trafford manager Sir Alex Ferguson this week after Butt became increasingly frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities.

The Gorton-born midfielder knows his needs regular match action to keep his place in Sven-Goran Eriksson´s England squad for this summer´s European Championships and, after a decade of loyal service, now accepts his time with the Red Devils is coming to an end.

It has been suggestion Butt could head to Middlesbrough in a deal which would see defender Southgate moving in the other direction. However, it is understood that Old Trafford officials will not countenance such a deal.

With an improved bid for Fulham´s Louis Saha likely at some stage before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, United are anxious to raise hard cash, meaning Butt will not be allowed to go out on loan either.

Newcastle, Everton, Tottenham and Birmingham are also believed to be interested in securing the services of a player who has won six Premiership titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League winners´ medal during his time at Old Trafford.

vu qu´on arrive pas a avoir saha et qu´il ya beaucuop de chances qu´on ne ´est pason aura toujours Dong Fangzhou pour jouer en soutien de ruud .

Pour Dong, je dois avouer que certains détails m´échappent, il doit être prêté à Anvers l´an prochain s´il obtient un permis de travil ( depuis quand il en faut un en Belgique ? ^^) mais on ne sait pas s´il reste en Chine en attendant...Peu de détails à son sujet.

Pour Saha, lui et son agent déclarent que exactement le contraire de MU et Fulham ! Mais à priori on semble proche d´un accord puisque de toute façon les Cottagers doivent de l´argent à Lyon, veulent transférer définitivement Moris Voltz, et ont un salaire de plus avec Bocanegra qui vient d´arriver...Vu la détermination de Saha, Fulham devra le lacher. Pour moi c´est la solution idéale en milieu de saison, avec Anelka peut-être. On verra si cet été on peut avoir Robben et Trabelsi ^^

Fulham have denied selling Louis Saha, their star forward, to Manchester United despite speculation this morning that the deal had been concluded. Oliver Kay, Football Correspondent, reports on one of the most acrimonious transfer sagas of recent years.

" The deal was very close last night and a breakthrough was made in negotiations to suggest that it will be concluded sooner rather than later.

" From what I understand, today´s statement by Fulham is a delay rather than any suggestion that the deal is off.

" Fulham have reacted out of frustration. They are clearly irritated that Louis Saha has jumped the gun in saying it is a done deal.

" He has made his excitement all too clear and Fulham are saying to him: ´We will let you go when we are ready to let you go.´

" Fulham are very irritated about everything that has gone on since Manchester United first expressed an interest in the player, but they have come to accept the reality of the situation.

" A figure of nearly £10 million is a good price for a player that they would have been willing to sell for a lot less during the summer and especially now that he would clearly be unhappy to stay at Fulham.

" The price would have been a lot in a depressed market six to 12 months ago, but Roman Abramovich´s arrival at Chelsea has reinvigorated the market a bit.

il n´y a aucune declaration officiel de Mu disant qu´ils ne sont pas en train de parler de contrat avec saha . ni fergie ni le president personne n´a parlé encore

Trabelsi pour l´instant est sous contrat avec l´Ajax jusqu´en juin mais il a pas encore choisi son club pour l´an prochain ( puisqu´il veut partir).

Parait qu´Henrik Larsson a deja trouvé un accord avec un club pour l´an prochain, mais on ne sait pas lequel...
