Manchester United, réputé le plus riche du monde, va se doter à partir de février, pour la première fois, d´un directeur commercial, passé notamment par Disney, a annoncé lundi le club anglais coté à la bourse de Londres.

« Andy Anson entrera en fonction à Old Trafford ( le siège et stade de Manchester United) fin février. Il sera chargé de toutes les activités commerciales, ce qui inclue le marketing et les relations avec les sponsors, le développement commercial, les relations avec les clients et les service financiers », a expliqué le club dans un communiqué.

Agé de 39 ans, Andy Anson sera le premier cadre à porter le titre de directeur commercial au sein de l´organigramme de Manchester United, profondément remanié après le départ de Peter Kenyon qui avait abandonné en septembre son poste de directeur général pour rejoindre le club londonien de Chelsea

Fulham striker Louis Saha has said he wants to sign, West Ham´s Jermain Defoe is another name in the frame and PSV Eindhoven say United are interested in Mateja Kezman.

With Rio Ferdinand banned and United competing in the FA Cup, Premiership and Champions League, Ferguson may decide to bolster his defence.

Nicolas Burdisso, 22, of Boca Juniors, Bayer Leverkusen´s Brazilian defender Lucio, Nottingham Forest´s Michael Dawson and Gareth Southgate have all been linked.

As have Juventus´ Lilian Thuram, AC Milan´s Alessandro Nesta, Valencia´s Roberto Ayala, and Inter Milan´s Fabio Cannavaro but they are all cup tied and cannot play for United in this season´s Champions League.

Fulham have confirmed that Manchester United have made enquiries about striker Louis Saha.
Saha admitted on Monday he would relish a move to Old Trafford, but Fulham insist he is not for sale.

" There have been unsolicited and unwelcome enquiries from a number of clubs, including Manchester United," said a club statement.

" It has been made clear to those clubs that Fulham FC does not wish to, and has no financial requirement, to sell."

Fulham manager Chris Coleman said Saha would leave the club " over my dead body".

" I´m not surprised by all the interest that has been shown in Louis," Coleman said.

" He´s a terrific player but he will he be leaving this club over my dead body - especially halfway through the season.

" We´re doing well and he´s a big part of that success, so it doesn´t matter what club comes in for him, we don´t want him to go.

" He´s invaluable to the club. Even if we got £20m for him we wouldn´t sell."

Chairman Mohamed Al Fayed had told Coleman that he does not need to sell players, and the club´s chief executive Jim Hone backed up that view.

" Media speculation surrounding any player can become unsettling and is not welcome," he said.

" Louis is very much part of our future and is simply not for sale at this stage."

The Frenchman has scored 10 goals for Fulham, and on Tuesday said a move to United would be " a dream".

Saha, who has two years left on his contract, has so far refused to accept a new deal with Fulham.

N´en déplaise à Chelsea ou au Real Madrid qui en aurait fait son galactique 2004 si on en croit la presse sportive espagnole, Ruud Van Nistelrooy est sur le point de signer une prolongation de contrat de cinq ans avec Manchester United, selon son entraîneur Alex Ferguson qui s´exprimait sur la chaîne de télé du club.

Sir Alex Ferguson is confident striker Ruud van Nistelrooy will sign a new contract early in the new year.
The Dutch striker is midway through a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with reported wages of £40,000 per week.

And, despite reported interest from Premiership rivals Chelsea and Spanish giants Real Madrid, Ferguson believes the 27-year-old will stay put.

" We are on the point of agreeing a new contract with Ruud van Nistelrooy," Ferguson told MUTV.

" Hopefully we will be able to give more details of it quite soon."

The Dutch international has scored 97 goals in 125 games since moving to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven.

Any new deal at Manchester United is expected to see van Nistelrooy´s wages double in a bid to fight off interest from Real.

Former United midfielder David Beckham has admitted he would like to play alongside van Nistelrooy again, while Real team-mate Ronaldo has also declared his admiration for the striker.

Fulham a refusé l´offre de 7.8 millions d´euros de Manchester United pour Louis Saha. Chris Coleman s´est montré intraitable au sujet de son attaquant. " Il devra me passer sur le corps avant de partir", a glissé l´entraîneur londonien. L´ancien Messin devra certainement patienter jusqu´au mois de juin pour quitter le club de la capitale.

J´irais l´abattre Chris Coleman ^^

Si c´est pas Saha, ça veut dire Viduka en prêt, c´est pas si mal, en juin on pourra acheter un bon attaquant comme ça ^^
