=>Les rumeurs d´aujourd´hui ^^
Fergie could do worse than one Lars hurrah
Sir Alex Ferguson went to spy on Anderlecht´s teenage defender Vincent Kompany in the week and ended up watching him get torn apart by old timer Henrik Larsson. You just can´t keep a good striker down no matter how old he is. Fergie has apparently been given the green light to sign a forward when the transfer window reopens. He could do a lot worse than sign Larsson. Despite 32 goals in European competition, there are still people who say the Swede has never done it at the highest level. Others would argue Fergie should have signed the Celtic striker years ago and that he´s over the hill now. Try telling that to young Kompany.

Jerm war; Kop battle Man Utd in £12m Defoe fight
Liverpool will fight Manchester United for West Ham´s £12million-rated Jermain Defoe if they lose Michael Owen to Real Madrid. Owen will have only a year remaining on his contract at the end of the season and if he decides to leave, Liverpool will then target Defoe, 21. But United are still keen on Defoe, who they nearly signed last summer for £8m. They´ve since been told the Hammers now value him at £12m.

United eye up Anelka
Manchester United are weighing up a sensational swoop for Nicolas Anelka. United will move for their city rivals´ star player if they can´t bring in AC Milan forward Andrei Shevchenko. Sir Alex Ferguson saw a summer bid to land Shevchenko rejected by the European champions, with United offering to hand over David Beckham and £10m in exchange. Now Ferguson, armed with the biggest transfer kitty of his 17-year reign, is ready to try again. United will meet with fierce opposition from Italian president and Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi. The Premiership champions also face persuading Shevchenko to walk away from a contract that is reported to be the most complicated in world football. If Ferguson fails, he will examine the possibility of making an equally outrageous raid on rivals Manchester City.

Rio is set to miss out again
Sven Goran Eriksson will once again be prevented from selecting Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand when he names his squad tomorrow for the friendly with Denmark at Old Trafford next Sunday. Ferdinand, who was charged by the FA a week ago for failing to take a drug test, has yet to respond to the charges but is expected to be granted a personal hearing by the end of the week.

Wes on course for Carling Cup comeback
Wes Brown is on course to make a shock return to Man Utd´s team - as Sunday Mirror reported back in August. The England defender will train with Sir Alex Ferguson´s first-team squad next week after recovering from cruciate ligament surgery in May. Ferguson said: " Wes hopefully will play in the Carling Cup tie at West Brom in three weeks."

Chelsea mène 3-0 ^^
L´avantage d´Anelka c´est que le temps d´adaptation sera moins long, il connait ce championnat et la ville...^^
Les notes des joueurs par le site de MU ^^
LIVERPOOL V UNITED: PLAYER RATINGS
How did the United players perform against Liverpool?
Howard 7 – On the whole, dependable as ever, although his kicking wasn’t quite up to scratch which could have led to Liverpool scoring on more than one occasion
O’Shea 7 – Dealt well with Liverpool’s attacks, he’s looking stronger with every game, though not quite matching his performances at the end of last season
Ferdinand 6 – Some great defending towards the end, but was very lucky not to gift Liverpool a penalty
Silvestre 7 – Dealt with most attacks effectively throughout the game, especially in the closing minutes
Gary Neville 7 – Good performance at the back for most of the match
Giggs 8 – Two fabulous goals, he always looked dangerous going forward and never stopped working
Phil Neville 7 – Still looking good in his midfield role, wasn’t afraid to make challenges
Keane 7 – Commanding in midfield, the partnership with Phil Neville is working well
Fortune 7 – Solid performance, continuing his good start to the season
Forlan 6 – Didn’t make the most of the chances he was given, but kept working hard throughout
Van Nistelrooy 6 – Always worked hard, but his finishing touch wasn’t really needed with Giggs around
Substitutes
Fletcher 6 – ( Replaced Fortune 83) Didn’t have time to make much of an impact, but didn’t seem fazed by the big occasion
Key Opposition
The double act of Le Tallec and Sinama-Pongolle looked so threatening, it makes you wonder why Houllier didn´t play them from the start.
