" Djemba-Djemba steps up"
Djemba-Djemba admits United is a step up in class
Eric Djemba-Djemba has admitted that playing in the English Premiership is a bigger challenge than he first thought.
" Everything is more difficult here," admitted the Cameroon international.
" It is faster and harder and the level of aggression is also a lot higher."
Djemba-Djemba, who moved to Manchester United from French side Nantes, has played in seven games for his new club, scoring his first goal in their 5-0 thrashing of Greek side Panathinaikos in the Uefa Champions League.
But he received a lot of media attention after the season-opening Charity Shield match.
The midfielder was fouled by Arsenal defender Sol Campbell, who received a $30,000 fine from the English FA for his misconduct.
Djemba-Djemba said that making a good impression with United in the Champions League was a career priority and confessed that they have a lot to do after their shock 2-1 defeat to German side VfB Stuttgart.
" Stuttgart are a strong team you can see that from the Bundesliga table," Djemba-Djemba said.
" We were over confident [before the game] and were punished because of that."
Djemba´s immediate challenge would be to play a key role in United´s league tie at Leeds on Saturday.
