Youngsters Chris Eagles and Darren Fletcher have penned new deals at Old Trafford.

The two midfielders have extended their existing deals after impressing through the youth and reserve team ranks, and are tipped for a big future with the club.

A third talent, Danish kid Mads Timm, is also expected to sign a new deal despite the rumours of him growing frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities.

Teddy Sheringham has been named the Premiership player-of the-month for August.

Portsmouth striker Sheringham, 37, has scored four goals in the first month of the top flight season to earn the award.

The former England striker moved to the Premiership newcomers during the summer after being released by Tottenham.

There were doubts over the impact he could still have in England´s elite division but he has responded to his critics with his impressive start to the campaign.

Sheringham scored in Portsmouth´s opening day win against Aston Villa and notched a hat-trick against Bolton.

Venezuelan billionaire Gustavo Cisneros is one of at least two interested parties reported to be stepping up their attempts to invest in Aston Villa.
Cisneros, whose fortune is said to be considerably greater than that of Roman Abramovich, was linked with a takeover at Villa Park in the summer.

Cisneros apparently lost out to Abramovich in negotiations to acquire Chelsea.

Aston Villa confirmed in a statement to the Stock Exchange on Friday that further talks with unnamed parties are now taking place, though insisted enquiries remained " speculative".

Vieira n´écarte pas l´idée de jouer pour ManchesterLe capitaine et milieu de terrain français d´Arsenal ( 1re div. anglaise) Patrick Vieira, qui vient de prolonger avec son club de football jusqu´en 2007, n´écarte cependant pas totalement l´idée d´un possible transfert chez le grand rival, Manchester United.

" J´ai lu que Manchester United s´était intéressé à moi cet été, tout est possible dans le football", a expliqué Vieira, cité par le quotidien britannique Daily Star.

Vieira, 27 ans, avait mis fin aux rumeurs évoquant son départ en prolongeant en août, jusqu´en 2007, le contrat qui le lie à Arsenal.

" Plusieurs joueurs sont passés de Tottenham à Arsenal, du Milan AC à l´Inter Milan, de la Lazio Rome à l´AS Rome ou encore des Glasgow Rangers au Celtic Glasgow. Un jour je pourrais partir pour Manchester United, ou ne pas y aller", a ajouté Vieira.

" Mais cela se produit de plus en plus, qui sait ce qui peut se passer ? ", a encore indiqué le champion du monde 1998.

" Je n´ai pas quitté Arsenal car ici je me sens bien. Mais même si je me sens bien là où je suis, on ne peut jamais dire jamais", a conclu Vieira.
