"Veron misses Real tie" ( BBC)

Juan Sebastian Veron has been ruled out of Manchester United´s crunch Champions League tie with Real Madrid in the Bernabeu on Tuesday evening.
The £28.1m Argentine has failed to recover from the knee-ligament injury he picked up against Leeds at the beginning of the month.

Sir Alex Ferguson could also rule him out of the vital Premiership trips to Newcastle and Arsenal in a bid to ensure he is fit for the second leg of the quarter-final on 23 April.

The only other absentee from the flight to the Spanish capital was Phil Neville, who is suspended after picking up his third booking of the competition in the 2-0 defeat by Deportivo La Coruna.

Real Madrid striker Raul believes Ryan Giggs could be Manchester United`s trump card for Tuesday`s Champions League quarter-final showdown between the clubs. The clubs boast between them many of football`s biggest names with Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Luis Figo on the payroll in Madrid, while the likes of David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Fabien Barthez star for United.
