=>"Man Utd linked with Kewell"

"Kewell may leave Leeds "
Leeds United´s Harry Kewell is being lined up for a £6m summer switch to Manchester United, according to reports.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be keen to capture Kewell, who may be sacrificed to ease the ongoing Elland Road financial crisis.

Kewell has yet to agree a new contract, and has only 12 months left on his current deal before he could leave Leeds on a free transfer.

Harry Kewell profile

The delay in agreeing a new contract has alerted United, with speculation continuing about the future of Ryan Giggs.

Ferguson has been linked with a summer move for Blackburn´s Damien Duff, but it is understood he may now be ready to reunite Kewell with former Leeds team-mate Rio Ferdinand at Old Trafford.

Kewell could operate on the left flank, or even along Ruud van Nistelrooy in attack, if he leaves Leeds to cross the Pennines.

=>personnellement s´il ne coute "que" 6 millions £ je pense qu´il faut le prendre a tt prix car il est - cher que Duff ; -)

"Man Utd face FA probe"

Hyypia was struck by a coin following his fourth-minute dismissal
The Football Association is set to investigate after Liverpool captain Sami Hyypia had a coin thrown at him from the Old Trafford crowd on Saturday.
The coin was aimed at Hyypia as he walked off the pitch following his red card against Manchester United.

The 29-year-old picked the coin up before handing it to a match official.

Match report: Man Utd 4-0 Liverpool
The FA is waiting for reports from the referee, the police and crowd observers before deciding what action to take against the club.

"We want to see people who throw missiles arrested and prosecuted by the courts to prevent them from watching football," said FA spokesman Adrian Bevington.

Man Utd will also be probed for a pitch invasion after 10 supporters - including notorious prankster Karl Power - were allowed to get onto the pitch and taunt Liverpool fans before kick-off.

The 10 men have all been banned from Old Trafford for life and are likely to face police charges of trespass.

Uefa to probe crowd fracas
The incidents come in the wake of a Uefa probe into pitch invasions at the Stadium of Light during England´s Euro 2004 qualifier against Turkey.

Story by editor 7 April 2003

Gary Neville says United are gearing themselves up for the big push.

"Arsenal´s defeat at Blackburn a couple of weeks ago provided us with a bit of a push," said Neville.

"You could sense something extra against Fulham in the following game and it was there again yesterday. There is a really good atmosphere about us and this win sets down a marker for the games which lie ahead."

Gary Neville says RVN’s penalties are frightening:

"The goalkeepers know where he is going to hit them but they can´t do anything about it. I have never seen anyone hit a penalty so hard. It´s almost frightening."

=> "Eleven Reds in Teams of the Decade"

Eleven United stars are included in the FA Premier League´s 10 Season Domestic and Overseas teams, announced today.

Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Denis Irwin, Steve Bruce, Jaap Stam, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Paul Ince, Ryan Giggs and Eric Cantona are all honoured in the teams, voted for by fans from all over the world.

Almost three quarter of a million votes were registered for the 10 Seasons Awards that look back on the first decade of the Premier League, one which has arguably been the most exciting in English football history.

Fans from 184 countries cast their votes on premierleague.com after the awards were featured on domestic and international broadcasts transmitted in 160 countries in what is believed to be the most widely subscribed fan awards ever held.

Fans selected their 10 Season Domestic and Overseas teams from a shortlist created by a panel of experts from the world of football, broadcast and print media.

From these two teams fans then selected their Overall Team of the Decade, which will be announced along with the Domestic and Overseas Player of the Decade on Monday 14 April.

The winners of the other 10 Seasons Awards winners, including Goal, Save and Match of the Decade will be unveiled during the next two weeks.

Position- Domestic Team of the Decade -Overseas Team of the Decade
Goalkeeper David Seaman Peter Schmeichel
Right-back Gary Neville Dan Petrescu
Left-back Stuart Pearce Denis Irwin
Centre-back Tony Adams Marcel Desailly
Centre-back Steve Bruce Jaap Stam
Right midfield David Beckham Freddy Ljungberg
Left midfield Ryan Giggs Robert Pires
Central midfield Paul Scholes Patrick Vieira
Central midfield Paul Ince Roy Keane
Striker Alan Shearer Eric Cantona
Striker Michael Owen Thierry Henry

Richard Scudamore, Chief Executive of The FA Premier League, said: “The Premier League has had a fantastic first decade: developing some of the best domestic talent in living memory; attracting leading names from world football; as well as attracting a whole new generation of fans at home and abroad as attendances and TV audiences continue to rise.

“Fans like these have helped make the competition the success it is today and we will continue to strive to meet the high standards of footballing entertainment they expect.

“It is a tremendous honour for every one of these players to have been voted into their respective team of the decade as well as testament to the enduring quality of the players who have graced the Premier League in our first decade.”

Newcastle United Captain, Alan Shearer said:” The Domestic Team of the Decade would give any side a run for their money and I am very grateful to those people who selected me for the team.

“During my 10 seasons in the Premier League, I have played in a number of different teams, the Blackburn Championship winning team, the Kevin Keegan team of the mid 1990s, and now Sir Bobby Robson’s exciting young team. All of those sides have had a backbone of terrific domestic players and being bracketed alongside the best of those is a terrific feeling.”

Birmingham City Manager Steve Bruce said: “It is a great honour to be named in the Domestic Team of the Decade celebrating the first ten years of the Premier League. I greatly enjoyed playing in the Premiership and I am relishing using the experiences I gained as a player to manage Birmingham City".

"United face coin probe"
Manchester United face an FA probe after a coin was thrown at Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia. The Finn was targeted as he walked off the pitch following his fourth-minute red card in United´s 4-0 win on Saturday. He bent down to pick up the coin and handed it to an official. And both United and the FA will investigate the amazing breach of security which allowed 10 supporters to invade the Old Trafford pitch and taunt Liverpool´s fans before the game. The club are taking the incidents very seriously and will today start studying CCTV footage of both. Their good record of crowd control means they will escape any punishment for the pranksters who got on the pitch dressed in United kit. But the FA are awaiting reports on both incidents from the referee, police and crowd observers.
Neil Custis, The Sun

"United 4 Liverpool 0"
The Real Madrid spy must have learned about as much as that Turkish bloke who sneaked into England training with a camcorder last week. Coach Paco Jimenez, swotting up for tomorrow´s Champions League quarter-final crunch in The Bernabeu, sat with notebook in hand but might as well have got the early flight home to Spain. By the fifth minute Liverpool were one down, reduced to 10 men and the game was all over. Senor Jimenez was not the only one wondering what the future has in store. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who predicted months ago the Gunners would win The Premiership, now finds himself shoulder to shoulder with Alex Ferguson at the top of the table.
Shaun Custis, The Sun

"Madrid claim Wes and Rio are weak link"
Real Madrid stepped up the bitter war of words they are waging with Manchester United here last night. After Sir Alex Ferguson accused the Spanish giants of playing mind games with David Beckham, Real switched their target yesterday and poured scorn on the United defence. The club official Real sent to spy on United´s clash with Liverpool on Saturday was full of praise for Beckham and Ruud Van Nistelrooy. But yesterday Paco Jiminez returned to Spain ahead of tomorrow night´s Champions League quarter-final at the Bernabeu poking fun at Rio Ferdinand and Wes Brown. "They´re good at anticipating things and they are also quick," Jiminez said. "But they dwell on the ball and both have problems with concentration. We can catch them there. Buying Ferdinand has helped them in the air which is a good thing because so much English football is about the long ball. United are a very attacking team like us, but if they leave themselves exposed at the back, we will destroy their weaknesses."
Oliver Holt, Daily Mirror

"Grand naturals"
It will mean nothing in Madrid tomorrow, but Manchester United are playing with the belief of champions. The ease with which Liverpool were swatted aside at Old Trafford had its immediate reward as Arsenal´s failure to win at Villa Park gave the Premiership twin peaks. Sir Alex Ferguson´s thoroughbreds have cantered into the home straight with the poise of a National favourite drawing alongside the front-runner coming to the Elbow. More importantly, the mood of Old Trafford has altered from one of hopeful pursuit to sustained conviction. And as Fergie, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gary Neville all echoed, the faith in the United dressing-room has not been stronger all season. Van Nistelrooy, whose double took his United tally to 34 for the season, said: "A 4-0 win over Liverpool feels very good for us - as I´m sure it does for everybody who was there.
Martin Lipton, Daily Mirror

"Ruunaldo"
Sir Alex Ferguson hailed super-cool striker Ruud van Nistelrooy ahead of tomorrow´s Champions League quarter-final showdown with Real Madrid. Van Nistelrooy scored his 33rd and 34th goals of the season as Manchester United geared up for their appointment in the Bernabeu with a crushing 4-0 win over arch-rivals Liverpool. "Ruud is in fantastic form right now and he´s looking so sharp and dangerous," said Fergie. "The way he put away those penalties, with the power and precision he showed, was marvellous." But while van Nistelrooy continued his prolific scoring exploits, Ronaldo, his opposite number at Real Madrid, endured another miserable afternoon as his crisis of confidence continued. Brazil´s World Cup winner and former double World Player of the Year is suffering his worst spell since his summer move to Real and was hauled off with seven minutes to go on Saturday with them trailing relegation-threatened Rayo Vallecano 1-0.

NO KEWELL DEAL
by Graham Walker

LEEDS United officials have reacted with astonishment to reports that a deal has been struck to take Harry Kewell away from the club.
Monday´s Star newspaper claimed as an exclusive that stated Manchester United have agreed a cut-price deal for the Aussie star that would see him swap Elland Road for Old Trafford in the summer.

Leeds club officials though categorically denied that any club had even made an approach for the 24-year-old, let alone agreed a deal.

Kewell and his agent are currently in discussion with United over a new contract, and he looks set to extend what has already been a seven year stay at Leeds for what could be another five seasons.

Harry is currently enjoying his best goalscoring season for four seasons, one goal behind top scorer Mark Viduka was 14 league and cup goals, not including his strike against England for Australia last month.
