a t´on vraiment besoin d´un defenseur ? Quand les blesses reviendront ca ira . Une defense composa de ferdinanr , silvestre , O Shea , brown et neville me parait assez solide .

Kenyon hints at Ferguson deal

Manchester United chief executive Peter Kenyon has suggested manager Sir Alex Ferguson may extend his current contract.
Ferguson signed his current three-year deal in February 2002 after changing his mind about retiring - but Kenyon said Ferguson may commit himself beyond 2005.

Kenyon said: " There is nothing to suggest that Alex will not be here longer than his current contract.

" He knows what is required, we know what is required," Kenyon told MUTV.

At 61, Ferguson is one of the Premiership´s elder statesmen, but Kenyon insists the Old Trafford boss´s hunger for success keeps him young.

Kenyon said: " I don´t think it is anything to do with age.

" His ability and his record speaks for themselves and anybody who knows him will see there is a younger, fitter Sir Alex Ferguson this season than there was last.

" He says he is enjoying his football more than ever now and that is a fact.

" I think the rest of football have every right to be worried," added Kenyon.

Cameroon international and new Chelsea recruit Geremi has revealed that he did not want to join Manchester United because the competition for places in United´s midfield is too strong.

Despite acknowledging United´s interest, Geremi indicated that he was not prepared to play in Roy Keane´s shadow and so chose a £7m move to Stamford Bridge.

Ferguson pourrait prolonger avec MU

Peter Kenyon, le directeur général de Manchester United, annonce mardi sur Manchester United TV que l´entraîneur Alex Ferguson, lié avec les champions d´Angleterre jusqu´en 2005, pourrait prolonger son contrat.

« Rien n´indique aujourd´hui qu´Alex ne puisse pas poursuivre au-delà de son contrat actuel, a déclaré Kenyon. Il sait ce qu´il faut pour cela et nous le savons également ».

Kenyon a estimé qu´à 61 ans Alex Ferguson avait toujours faim de victoires avant d´ajouter que les adversaires de MU « avaient le droit d´être inquiets ».

La Fédération accuse Campbell

La Fédération anglaise ( FA) accuse le défenseur international d´Arsenal, Sol Campbell, de comportement violent suite à un mauvais geste à l´encontre d´Eric Djemba-Djemba ( Manchester United), lors du Community Shield, disputé le 10 août.

L´accusation repose sur une recommandation de la commission de visionnage vidéo de la FA dans la mesure où le geste de l´international anglais avait échappé à l´arbitre lors du traditionnel match d´ourverture de la saison entre le champion en titre, Manchester, et le vainqueur de la Coupe d´Angleterre, Arsenal.

Campbell risque trois matches de suspension s´il est reconnu coupable. Et il encourt déjà une suspension d´un match au moins après son exclusion lors de la victoire ( 2-1) des Gunners devant Everton en Championnat.
