" Ternent captures ex-Red"
Former Manchester United defender David May has joined Burnley on a free transfer.
May, who was part of United´s Treble-winning squad joins ex-Red Lee Roche who also signed for Stan Ternent´s side after being released at the end of last season, and Luke Chadwick who is on a season-long loan at Turf Moor.
David, 33, has signed a deal that runs until the end of the season. He was booed when he captained United in the Worthington Cup tie against Ternent´s side last season due to the fact he used to play for their fierce rivals Blackburn.
The central defender was on trial at Rangers earlier in the summer, but Ternent has managed to capture May to add some experience at the back.
" He´s a top class player," Stan told Burnley´s website. " It´s been well documented about our problems and we gave three goals away on saturday. I´m delighted to have signed David and he´s here on a one-year contract, so we look forward to working with him."
