The World Cup winner has spoken of his regret at not joining United and his hopes for joining them in the future.

Manchester United´s No. 1 defensive target, Carlos Puyol, has told Sir Alex Ferguson: " I want to come to Old Trafford." " Man Utd confident over Kleberson"

Manchester United expect the arrival of Kleberson to be rubber-stamped on 11 August.
That is when the Old Trafford club think the work permit for the Brazilian will arrive.

World Cup winner Kleberson is set to be the final purchase of the summer for United, although Juan Sebsatian Veron could soon complete his strongly mooted move to Chelsea.

And boss Sir Alex Ferguson believes that once £5.5m midfielder Kleberson is officially on board his team will have the quality necessary to retain their Premiership title.

" I won´t be bringing anyone else into the midfield," said Ferguson.

" We´re getting a proven player in Kleberson and one I think could develop into someone truly versatile. I can see him performing in a number of positions for us.

" He´s played in a World Cup final, so I don´t anticipate any permit problems."

Ferguson has already started working out how he will handle Kleberson once he formally arrives at the club.

" He can´t speak English, so we will address that as soon as he arrives. We´ve interpreters who´ll be coming to the training ground.

" We´ll also need to look at how much football he´s played, as the League in Brazil is stil going on," Ferguson told the Sunday Express newspaper.

The 24-year-old has been playing in Brazil for his club side Atletico Paranaense and Ferguson is aware of the fact that he may need a break at some point during the season.

Kleberson is excited by the prospect of linking up with his new team-mates.

" It´s a dream for me to play in England. I believe I´m ready for this challenge," the player told United´s official website.

" Gilberto Silva of Arsenal talks of how well contested the matches are in the Premiership."

Kleberson, who has 20 caps and scored two international goals, was one of Brazil´s better players during their disappointing Confederations Cup campaign in France last June.

Leeds were favourites to sign Kleberson until Manchester United declared their interest in signing him.
