Ruud van Nistelrooy is planning to have a special VIP in the stands at The Coliseum in Los Angeles on Sunday. Manchester United play Mexican outfit Club America, and the Reds´ Dutch striker is hoping the surgeon who saved his career in 2000, will be at the match as his guest. Van Nistelrooy´s previous club PSV Eindhoven sent the stricken striker to the States three summers ago to have surgery on his damaged knee following the cruciate ligament injury that forced the postponement of his transfer to Old Trafford. Ruud´s op was successfully carried out by Dr Richard Steadman at his famous Vail Clinic in Colorado. The American´s expertise put van Nistelrooy back on the road and his dream move to United was resurrected in 2001 when a £19m move from Holland was finally completed. Since recovering, van Nistelrooy has gone on to have a sensational debut campaign with United two years ago when he scored 36 goals and was the PFA´s 2002 Player of the Year. Last season, he demolished his opening goal account by scoring 44 goals and won the Premiership´s Golden Boot in the process, as well as a title with the Reds. Now he wants to say thank you in person to the specialist who made it all possible.

David Bellion hopes that his debut goal against Celtic will be the first of many for Manchester United. The French flyer came off the bench for an impressive late cameo in which he fired the fourth against the Uefa Cup finalists. But the 20-year-old knows that he faces a lot of hard work if he is to make the transition from bit-part player at relegated Sunderland to regular at the Premiership champions. " It was nice for me and great," he told MUTV after the match. " It was a good goal, good to remember for my debut. I´ve just got to keep going. There´s a long way to go now. We´ve trained for two weeks, every day you look to improve, and it was a good debut.” And Bellion revealed that he is dreamland following his move and is keen to make the most of his opportunity. US to honour Tim
United´s new goalkeeper, Tim Howard, joined up with the Reds squad in Portland today and the American is due to be honoured next week by Major League Soccer. Howard moved to Old Trafford from his hometown New Jersey soccer outfit, MetroStars, last week and will have a special presentation during the United v Juventus match at Giants Stadium in New York. " This is one of the most important moments in US soccer history," says MLS commissioner Don Garber of Howard´s move to the Reds.

bon finalement ca ne bouge pas et j´ai tendance a croire que les transferts a manchester c´est fini cette saison . On restera sur 2 fausses notes . Maintenant la saison dependra en grande partie de l´adaptation nouvelle de veron et de l´explosion de bellion . sans ca on va avoir une saison noire .

mais il reste quand meme un gout d´inacheve . De plus makay va signer au bayern . Milan , bayern , real . Voila les equipes favorites en C1. elles se sont bien renforcé . pas sur qu´on soit au niveau , puisque´on y etait deja pas l´annee derniere . Quand a l´angleterre il faudra se mefier de chelsea , arsenal et liverpool et kewell . la aussi on est juste limite . On verra .

" Keane sounds warning"

Manchester United captain Roy Keane has warned his club rivals that he will not be giving up his midfield place easily this season.

The fiery Corkman celebrates his 32nd birthday next month but he intends to keep his place in the United side, despite some new arrivals at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson signed Eric Djemba-Djemba from Nantes during the close season with speculation over more midfield additions but Keane is ready to play a key role again.

" I honestly welcome it when new players come in. We´ve lost some this summer and you need a big strong squad. You want competition for places and the manager is always looking to improve things," he said.

" It is what you expect here and all part of the challenge of being a Manchester United player. It keeps everyone on their toes.

" Djemba-Djemba is being talked about as my replacement and Kleberson, a World Cup winner is coming too.

" But the manager bought Seba Veron a couple of years ago and now he is bringing two more in. The more midfielders the better, so long as it is right for the team and the club."

After a summer where Keane took his Uefa B coaching badge and coached at some football clinics in the US, he is looking forward tho the start of the new season.

" I´ve had an excellent break but I´ve kept myself busy doing nice things with the family. Mentally I´ve enjoyed the break and I feel fine physically.

" The manager says I´ve been flying in training but then he´s said that for the past three years. I´ve got two years left on my contract, hopefully I will see it out," he said.

The agent of Manchester United target Joaquin Sanchez says the Real Betis midfielder would be happy to listen to offers from the Premiership champions.

United had a reported bid of £12m plus Diego Forlan turned down by Betis earlier this month, with the young midfielder adding that he had no intention of leaving.

The Spanish international is hoping to extend his current three-year deal with Betis having become a regular in the first team.

Joaquin´s father and adviser Aurelio Sanchez had also played down the issue, but the player´s agent, Gonzalo Arguinano, now says his client is prepared to listen to offers.

" If Manchester United were to get in contact with the club, then Joaquin would be open to listen to any offer made.

" Until that time, he is very happy to be at the club," de Lopera said.

No new contract has been signed with the club and they are not in negotiations to renew his present deal

He added: " Manchester United are a good team, and if they made an offer, Joaquin would listen to it."

Joaquin, 22, has become one of United´s leading transfer targets following their failure to land Harry Kewell and Ronaldinho.

And the Spanish press also reports that Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera is prepared to meet United chief executive Peter Kenyon.

Arguinano appeared to back up that claim when he revealed Joaquin was no further in agreeing a deal with Lopera and that contact had broken down.

" No new contract has been signed with the club and they are not in negotiations to renew his present deal," he said.

" Joaquin has not had any contact with Lopera in regards to a new deal."

Il a deja dit qu´il voulait soit prolonger soit avoir une revalorisation salariale au Betis mais ils ne lui offrent pas donc son epart devient de plus en plus plausible.

Oui c´est sur mais il y encore 24h M.U. avait à peine 10% de chance de pouvoir le signer, la si le Betis refuse de lui offrir ce qu´il veut on a un peu plus de chances. Et si on peut inclure Forlan dans la transaction tant mieux ^^
