David Bellion was delighted to score on his debut, but admits he´s still at the start of a very long road at Manchester United.
The Frenchman came off the bench and showed glimpses of the pace that caught Sir Alex Ferguson´s eye, before charging into the area to finish off a great move and score the final goal in the Reds´ 4-0 win over Celtic in Seattle. There´s more to come, he promises.
" It was nice for me and great," he told MUTV after the match.
" It was a good goal, good to remember for my debut. I´ve just got to keep going. There´s a long way to go now.
" We´ve trained for two weeks, every day you look to improve, and it was a good debut."
David is still having to pinch himself to remember he´s signed for the biggest club in the world.
" I play with the best players in the world, and learning every day," he continued.
" It´s great. I am young, I have the opportunity to play in a big club so I am really happy. I cannot ask for more than this, it´s great.
" It is like a little dream come true when you are young.
" I am happy to wear the shirt of Manchester United. It was an unbelievable reception because I am not used to this.
" I was focused on the game. Since the beginning because I have to make good impressions and work hard to do the best I can when I get on the pitch."
And the former Sunderland man is enjoying every minute of his United career so far.
" When you are new, you are a bit shy, and you play with big players and it´s good because they are really friendly with me and try to talk with me.
" It´s a good team spirit, with a lot of jokes, and I am really happy."
