" Ronaldinho veut aller à MU" ( L´equipe.fr)

Roberto Assis, frère et agent du Brésilien Ronaldinho, a indiqué, jeudi à l´agence britannique Press Association, que le milieu de terrain parisien voulait « aller à Manchester United ».

« Ronaldinho veut aller à Manchester United, donc en ce moment, il s´agit simplement d´attendre que l´accord ( ndlr : entre le Paris SG et Manchester United) soit finalisé », a déclaré Roberto Assis.

En attendant, le champion du monde brésilien était attendu par le PSG jeudi à Aix-les-Bains, où le club parisien est en stage d´avant-saison.

Outre Manchester United, le FC Barcelone et Chelsea se sont manifestés pour engager Ronaldinho, arrivé à Paris au début de la saison 2001-2002. Mercredi, le président du Real Madrid, Florentino Perez, a annoncé que son club avait abandonné toute idée d´engager l´attaquant brésilien en 2003-2004.

Ronaldinho has decided he wants to leave Paris St Germain and join Manchester United, and is now waiting for the two clubs to agree a deal.
The Brazilian has told his brother Roberto Assis, who acts as his agent, that he has made up his mind.

Although the deal is not yet complete, it is the first indication from the 23-year-old that he has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford.

" Ronaldinho wants to go to Manchester United," said Assis.

" Now it is just a question of waiting for the deal to be completed. PSG have an offer from Manchester United and we are waiting for a reply.

" I have to talk with the PSG president Francis Graille because Ronaldinho wants the situation concluded.

" We are working towards that and now it is just a question of timing."

Real Madrid were linked with the player but have decided not to make a bid, while Barcelona and Chelsea are the other clubs believed to be chasing him.

Stewart has been unable to win a first-team place at Man Utd
Manchester United midfielder Michael Stewart is training with Nottingham Forest with a view to a loan switch to the City Ground.
The Scotland international, also wanted by Burnley boss Stan Ternent, linked up with Forest on Thursday.

He is due to travel to France with Paul Hart´s squad for a seven-day training camp.

Stewart has struggled to win a regular place in the United midfield over the last two seasons.

Ronaldinho wants to move to Old Trafford
Manchester United have still not tabled a written bid for Ronaldinho, according to the Brazil striker´s club, Paris St Germain.
United remain favourites to sign the 24-year-old, but PSG insist they have not made a formal approach.

" At the moment, we have only received written offers from Barcelona and Chelsea," read a statement on the PSG website.

" There have been many rumours suggesting we have done a deal with Manchester United, but we have not yet received anything."

The statement added: " For PSG, the proposal which would suit us better is the one from Real Madrid.

" It would have the advantage of being able to keep Ronaldinho for another year before he joins the Spanish champions."

PSG´s statement was released following the news that Ronaldinho had been fined for failing to turn up for pre-season training this week.

The striker was set to re-join his team-mates on 10 July following a two-week holiday.

The statement read: " He is not yet here. He will, therefore, be punished. His attitude shows a lack of respect for PSG."

Manchester United will pay Ronaldinho £60,000 per week once they seal his move from Paris St Germain - the same wages as club skipper Roy Keane. [The Sun]
