Ferguson blames Posh
Beckham and his wife are on a promotional tour of the Far East
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes David Beckham became a " different person" when he met Victoria Adams.
Ferguson guided Beckham through the ranks at Old Trafford but their relationship has deteriorated in recent years, culminating in the England captain´s £24.5m move to Real Madrid.
The Manchester United manager said he saw Beckham´s life change after he met former Spice Girl Victoria Adams.
" He was blessed with great stamina, the best of all the players I´ve had here," Ferguson told Sports Illustrated magazine.
" After training, he´d always be practising, practising, practising. But his life changed when he met his wife.
" She´s in pop and David got another image. He´s developed this ´fashion thing´. I saw his transition to a different person."
Beckham is currently on a promotional tour of the Far East from where he has reiterated his delight at signing for Real Madrid.
" I´m very excited to become part of Real Madrid," Beckham told a news conference.

Beckham faces Real fight
" It´s a very exciting experience and it´s going to be a very good challenge for me, on the football field and off it."
Beckham will face stiff competition for a place in the Spanish club´s starting line-up, not least because Luis Figo currently occupies the right midfield berth.
But England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson´s assistant believes it could help the international cause.
Tord Grip admitted that Beckham will spend some time on the bench at the Bernabeu, but said it would leave the 28-year-old fresher for his international duties.
" Real play so many matches I´m sure there will be enough for both Beckham and Luis Figo," Grip told The Sun.
" But Beckham will be on the bench once in a while which is better for the national team because he gets a rest.
" It has all happened quite quickly but I think he also thought it was best for him."
Eriksson himself has also given his seal of approval to Beckham´s switch from Manchester United.
He added: " I send my congratulations to David. I will be getting in touch with him as soon as possible."
