C'est sa vie hein.
Encore un post venant de redcafe et toujours du même auteur, à propos de Dimistar:
"His best half season thus far was in the second half of 2005/06 season when Berbatov played as a lone striker for Leverkusen. They had a terrible first half of the season and had to make some changes. The manager decided to drop Voronin and play Berbatov as a lone striker. That decision turned out to be very good, they won more points and scored more goals than any other team in the Bundesliga in the second half of the season. Berbatov himself scored 15 goals in his last 15 Bundesliga games and assisted for many others. It was then when SAF wanted him as a replacement for RvN. He played many years as a centre forward for Bulgaria, too, and scored a lot of goals. His goals per games ratio at international level is better than that of any other famous striker in Europe, IIRC.
After Spurs signed him he started to play deeper, in his second season there he played deeper than in his first season in the Prem and last season he played even deeper than that: more as a CM/playmaker. He isn't bad in that role, he made most assists in the league for us and is our best player at retaining possession in tight situations and holding up the ball. Still, he didn't shine even though he was more useful than he gets credit for. He is a good playmaker but he is better as a striker IMO. He isn't slow and his movement is quite intelligent. He is definetely better than Tevez as a centre forward (and maybe as a second striker and a playmaker, too).
The problem is that both Rooney and Ronaldo can/want to/prefer to play as strikers. Ronaldo's game in last seasons is all about scoring goals and Rooney said recently that he prefers to play centrally, and not on the wings. Thus it has been and still is a big problem for Sir Alex how to play all of them in the positions in which they want to and are most useful for the team. Obviously, he wouldn't play Rooney, Ronaldo and Berbatov as strikers at the same time.
Last season, the decision was to give a new role to Berbatov, namely to play him more as a centre mid/playmaker than as a striker. This decison was good in the games against small teams, we were very effective and won more points than the season before that. But it didn't work against top teams and Berbatov was left on the bench in the last games of the season. (Maybe the only exception was Chelsea: Berbatov was directly involved in 3 of our 4 goals against Chelsea this season.)
It will be quite interesting to see how SAF is going to use Berbatov next season. Maybe he will develop into one of the best playmakers, this role was new to him last season, he may perform it better next season, toward the end of the season he put some of his better performances. Or SAF will try him as a centre forward who plays in or near the box and is more of a goal threat. It's true that he isn't a great finisher a la RvN but he has the ability to score/make goals out of nothing as his career at Leverkusen and Spurs showed. Anyway, he has to score more goals next season. Simple passes in the middle of the park may be good for the tactics in some games but he can and should do better things: making and scoring (wonderful) goals."
Il a encore une fois tout à fait raison.
