Van der Sar: Busier than he has been for a while but the Dutchman was in good form 7
O’Shea: Unsteady in the first half but he gradually found his feet 6
Evans: The young defender wasn’t at his usual solid and steadfast best 6
Vidic: Struggled at critical moment but it was his only lapse of the evening 7
Evra: Will testify to Fergie that it is best to have Valencia on United’s side next season 6
Ronaldo: Greasy surface was made for a fleet-footed player like him but he didn’t make most of it 6
Anderson: Out wide on the left and out of his usual dominant area. The Brazilian hardly got into it 5
Carrick: Got caught in possession too often but his driving shots-cum-passes helped win it 6
Scholes: Togerish Wigan put him under pressure but he still managed to be influential 6
Rooney: Guilty of a bad first half miss but Wigan could never settle when he was on ball 7
Berbatov: Was unhappy with his colleagues movement at times but he had some classy moments 7
Subs:
Tevez (sub Anderson 58) Great impact 9
Giggs (sub Scholes 75) Steady effort 5
Park (sub Berbatov 89) Not much time 5
