"Villa killer – United throttled life out of us says Mellberg
One down, eight to go. Alex Ferguson’s teams always appear to relish a tall order. Boss Fergie insists it is fair and reasonable to demand a maximum return from Manchester United’s remaining Premiership games. And Villa defender Olof Mellberg would not put it past them, either. Forget the fact that United only won their lunchtime fixture at Villa Park because the home side blew nearly two dozen chances.

Crunch bunch
The mind games will not have an effect, It is the knowledge that the pursuit is unrelenting that may be wearing Arsenal down. All the flourish this season may have come from Highbury, but Manchester United have gained 26 points out of 30 since their Boxing Day defeat at Middlesbrough. That is Championship form, even if the performances have not been championship material. Stuttering or not though, United refuse to give up the ghost, winding up the pressure and waiting for Arsenal to crack.
Martin Lipton, Daily Mirror
Rio’s flaw show
Statistics can lie, as can clean sheets – but Sir Alex Ferguson will not be fooled by his side’s 1-0 triumph at Villa Park. Aston Villa were unable to score but their 90 minutes of effort flagged up serious shortcomings in title-challenging Manchester United. Villa, who failed to carve out a single chance against Birmingham 12 days previously, were undone by their own profligacy in front of Fabien Barthez’s goal. The widely known fact is that victory placed United just two points behind champions Arsenal, with eight games to go.

Fergie’s heading for a photo finish – Aston Villa 0 United 1
Aston Villa fan Jim Lewis, the owner of Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Best Mate, showed off his trophy before kick-off, but unfortunately for him it gave Manchester United a gee-up in their bid to avoid a silver-free season. A fortnight ago, after Arsenal had defeated Charlton, it was claimed that the Premiership title race was all but over. It could be time to think again. With the Gunners losing at Blackburn, United took advantage thanks to a 12-th minute goal from David Beckham to narrow the gap at the top to two points.

Snap crackle ‘n top Aston Villa 0 United 1
Sir Alex Ferguson is carefully cultivating a gang of cereal killers to stalk Arsenal and take their title. If he succeeds, his men are more likely to celebrate with a muesli and fruit juice than bubbly. United have had an astonishing number of rise and shine early morning calls already and face having a total of 13 lunchtime kick-offs this season. This was number 10, so the three points were secured a good few hours before they heard the Gunners had lost at Blackburn and they had slashed the gap at the top to just two points.
Dave Armitage, Daily Star
Fergie will not take title
Mikael Silvestre will have stunned boss Alex Ferguson by insisting: We won´t catch Arsenal.
The Manchester United defender helped Fergie´s troops beat Aston Villa 1-0 on Saturday to leave them two points behind the Gunners - who crashed 2-0 at Blackburn - in the Premiership title race. But Frenchman Silvestre, 25, said: "These results are not a turning point. We are not really expecting Arsenal to slip up again this season. We have eight league matches left to play and our remaining matches are tougher than theirs. However, the title race has been revived and English bookies will devote themselves to it to their heart´s content." Silvestre twisted an ankle against Villa - and will miss the Champions League trip to Deportivo tomorrow.

"FLETCHER IS ALMOST READY
Story by Editor 17 March 2003
But Newcastle nearly stole him from under us
Fergie:
"I think he could play in the first team now. He has been in the reserves on and off for about two months but he is ready,
"His best position is centre-midfield but he can also play wide. He has a good engine and he is doing all right.
"I thought he did well on Wednesday but he just needs the strength and once he stops growing then his physique will get better.
"He has good composure and a good eye for the game and I am pleased with him.
"We had had him here since he was an 11-year-old but when he reached 15, everybody was after him,
"He was in the Scottish schoolboy’s team and we thought we had lost him because Liverpool and Newcastle came in. He had almost agreed to join Newcastle but I got him down to Manchester with his father and he signed for us."
=>ROBERTO CARLOS NOT INTERESTED IN ARSENAL
Story by Editor 17 March 2003
He is happier staying in Madrid
Speaking to the Spanish newspaper Marca he said:
"I do not know why I am constantly being talked about with these foreign teams. Whenever something has arrived for me, I have rejected it.
"It doesn´t interest me. I would like President Florentino Perez to call me and propose a contract extension.”
L´équipe probable : Roy Carroll, Phil Neville, Laurent Blanc, John O´Shea, Danny Pugh, Darren Fletcher, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Kieran Richardson, Michael Stewart, Diego Forlan.
GGGRRRR
Hello tt l´monde!!!
Alors, content??
" GO MAN UTD GO " and " WELCOME BACK HOME CHAMPIONSHIP´S TITLE "
greenpepper> petit chanceux ! !!!
