Whereas Beckham’s future is clouded by a variety of outside interests, Giggs has taken every opportunity in recent months to state his commitment to the United cause. The matter may still be out of his hands, if Ferguson believes that the 29-year-old’s best days are behind him, but the Wales forward, the subject of strong interest from Inter Milan, is confident that he has done enough to secure his future at United.
“Nothing has been said to me about the future,” Giggs said yesterday. “I know what I can do and I know what I can bring to the team and I think that each season I’ve felt I’ve got better with the experience.
“Hopefully that will show again next year and I can start next season as I have finished this one. I’ve got three years left on my contract and I would happily spend the rest of my career here.”
