The Sun claims Tevez is due to arrive at Arsenal on Wednesday to undergo a medical, providing he can solve a cash wrangle with his Brazilian club Corinthians.
The Daily Star reports that Old Trafford will be his destination but it is thought the lure of London will ensure he joins the Gunners for £18million.
Meanwhile, United could also miss out on another reported South American target in Javier Mascherano, a team-mate of Tevez for club and country.
Mascherano looks set to play for Argentina against Brazil at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday but a valuation of £30million may deter the Red Devils.
The midfielder is also said to be interesting Roma after falling out with Corinthians and going missing from the club.
