United dismiss Lippi talk

Manchester United have poured cold water on reports linking Italy coach Marcello Lippi with a move to Old Trafford.

Reports in sections of the media on Friday suggested Lippi was keen on a new adventure in England, in particular a position under Sir Alex Ferguson at The Red Devils.

Lippi is sure to be focusing his attentions on masterminding Italy´s World Cup final challenge, but United have moved to nip talk of his arrival in Manchester in the bud.

"There is no truth in the story about Lippi coming to Old Trafford," read a statement on the club´s website.

"We are happy with our coaching set-up."

Carlos Queiroz is Ferguson´s number two and it would appear as if the status quo will remain at Old Trafford.

Dementi de Mu concernant la rumeur qui envoyait Lippi chez nous en tant qu´adjoint de Sir Alex. Je sais meme pas si ça méritait qu´on le démente, je serais assez étonné que Lippi veuille etre adjoint alors qu´on lui proposera surement des postes d´entraineur ailleurs.

Ca à l´air de se confirmer, il veut partir. Je me doutais bien qu´un jour il partirait pour jouer en espagne mais pas avant 5 ans, enfin je trouve ça vraiment lamentable de quitter le club comme ça si c´est vraiment le cas.
