Pour le moment il a un contrat et il ne partira que si Manchester est d´accord. Ce qui signifierait donc qu´il faudrait débourser une somme suffisante, et que Sir Alex considérerait qu´il a déjà les joueurs pour le remplacer ou qu´il a un attaquant en vue prêt à signer. Tout ça parait improbable pour le moment. Il a reconnu qu´il allait rencontrer Ruud avec David Gill et les personnes concernées mardi, on verra la décision.

Bien sûr que Ruud n´est pas (ou plus) indispensable, mais c´est surtout un buteur d´exception, trés attaché au club qui a marqué l´histoire de MU, donc ce serait pas un départ anodin. Mais ça fera beaucoup moins mal de voir partir le Ruud de mai 2006 que celui d´il y a 2/3 ans qui était LE joueur essentiel. Auj ne serait-ce qu´avec Rooney on a un joueur plus important encore.

Espérons quand même que ça va se résoudre...

Gros match de Kieran et de Neville. Bon perf dans l´ensemble et bon retour de Scholes à la compétition, c´est bien qu´il ait pu participer à ça.

Concernant Ruud, il faut voir ce qu´il veut vraiment. Je ne pense pas que Sir Alex ne compte plus sur lui donc la décision risque bien de venir de lui.

Fergie: Ruud affecting team spirit

Sir Alex Ferguson left Ruud van Nistelrooy out of the line-up for the last day win over Charlton Athletic because he felt the Dutchman was upsetting the spirit at the club.

Ferguson appears to have made a ruthless decision regarding his top scorer, who drove away from Old Trafford when informed of the news and played no part in the 4-0 triumph.

Paul Scholes made his comeback from an eye problem as a second half substitute which pleased the Red Devils chief.

The United manager also remains hopeful Wayne Rooney will still feature in the World Cup finals after the striker walked around the pitch without crutches during the lap of honour.

"It was absolutely terrific," Ferguson stated to Sky Sports. "I enjoyed the game, the players enjoyed it.

"We´ve got second place, [going] directly into the Champions League, which is what we wanted anyway so it´s been a satisfying day.

"Paul Scholes has been doing so well in training in the last two or three weeks, I felt it was essential, given the importance of the game, that, as a sub, he would be a good one if we needed him, he was going to be there.

"[As for van Nistelrooy], there have been a couple of issues during the week which concerned me in terms of the spirit at the club. It was such an important day but I felt Ruud should be left out. It´s straightforward and all I need to say, at the moment.

"I´ll be discussing it with the club directors tomorrow and Tuesday and that´s it. We´re going to discuss the whole thing - that´s important."

As for Rooney, Ferguson admits it is still a long shot that the England striker will play some part in Germany.

"He´s been having the oxygen treatment," said the Scot. "He´s not enjoying it but he´s doing it twice a day and shown great determination to try and get ready for the World Cup.

"We know it´s a forlorn hope but we´re giving it a try. I think that´s fair enough [naming him in the preliminary England squad]. I would do the same if I was Sven [Goran Eriksson]. If he were to get fit, he´s such a big player you´d have to have him there.

"Let´s see how he gets on in the next couple of weeks."

Ruud affectait l´esprit de l´equipe selon Sir Alex ça promet pour les prochains jours ça. J´espère que ça ne finira pas comme avec Beckham.

Laser treatment as well as the oxygen chamber.

After putting Wayne Rooney in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber to help speed his recovery, the medical team at Manchester United is considering using a revolutionary laser treatment on his broken metatarsal.

A leading sports physiotherapist has offered to treat Rooney with scanning laser therapy, which can cut an injury´s recovery time by half. Brian Simpson, an expert in the high-speed treatment of trauma injuries, said this could see the England striker back on the pitch within weeks.

"It´s quite feasible that he could be playing again in four to five weeks," he said.

Mr Simpson, the physiotherapist at Ipswich Town during the reign of Sir Bobby Robson, has treated hundreds of sportsmen at his Suffolk clinic, including the former British superbike champion John Reynolds. "I see a lot of top-class bikers with broken collarbones, and we expect to see them racing again in four weeks."

Motorcycle champion Leighton Walker underwent the treatment after a multiple fracture in his arm earlier this year. "I was told I´d never regain full mobility, but I was racing again six weeks after I broke my arm."
