Agent denies Diarra deal

Mahamadou Diarra´s agent Frederic Guerra has denied a report in Spanish daily Marca that claimed the Lyon star is primed for a move to Manchester United or Real Madrid.

Marca suggested that United have already agreed a deal with the French champions but Madrid have until Sunday to launch a counter bid.

However, Guerra has made it clear that his client is focusing on his football, with Lyon in French Cup quarter final action against Marseille at Stade Gerland on Tuesday night.

"This information is totally false," Guerra told skysports.com. "It is an invention of the Spanish press.

"Fifa stipulate that the summer transfer window starts on May 15, not before.

"I have never broken that law and I won´t start today.

"I haven´t had Manchester United nor Real Madrid on the phone. I haven´t met with them.

"Diarra wants to stay focused on Lyon," Guerra emphasised. "They play a very important match tonight.

"I will tell you more about Mahamadou´s future within a month."

Developments are hence expected before mid-May but Lyon have warned that they will demand a massive price for their influential midfielder.

Riki to have English options

Spanish star Riki looks set to have English options this summer.

The Getafe forward has already been watched by Manchester United and Liverpool, but now Everton are understood to have joined the clutch of clubs interested.

Parma failed with a bid in January as Getafe insisted they wanted the 25-year-old to remain until the end of the season at least.

However, with a get-out clause of just €6 million (£4 million) the Madrid-based minnows realise they cannot fend off any interest for too much longer.

Riki, who can play either on the left or in the middle, is on obvious attraction given his relatively low price and the chance of a move to The Premiership is also likely to appeal to the player - should he be given that opportunity.

Vu son age et ses performances, je pense que c´est son prix.

Il paraitrait que Lyon lorgne sur Yaya Toure en cas de départ de Diarra. A mon avis Lyon sait deja que Diarra s´en ira. Si c´est pas nous, ce sera le real.

Injury scare for Saha

There are fears over the fitness of Manchester United striker Louis Saha, with widespread reports claiming that he has suffered an injury in training.

The Frenchman is believed to have suffered a recurrence of the ankle problem that has hampered his progress in the last couple of seasons, during a routine training ground exercise.

The extent of the damage is not yet known, but Saha was examined by the club´s medical staff and is now not likely to be risked against Sunderland on Friday. He could also be a doubt for United´s remaining games.

Makoun ready for Lille exit

Reported Manchester United target Jean Makoun concedes that his time at Lille could be coming to a close.

The combative Cameroon international has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and speculation has intensified following Sir Alex Ferguson´s appearance at Lille´s game with PSG in midweek.

United are known to be in the market for a midfielder in the summer as they step-up their bid to replace Roy Keane and it is Makoun, along with Lyon´s Mahamadou Diarra, that appears to be under observation.

The 22-year-old starred in the African Cup of Nations for Cameroon and caught the attention of Ferguson in the two UEFA Champions League fixtures between the two sides earlier in the season.

Makoun, who has not been shy of talking of his interest in a move to The Premiership, has now claimed the Lille would listen to offers and also, that his time in France could soon be over.
